Number shows up as Green Lake, WI when I went to answer they hung up.Did not leave a message. I don't know how these people get our cell phonenumbers.

They have been calling my cell phone a lot lately. I answered it once to just be able to tell them that I will report them to the FTC, but when I answered there was no one on the line. After a few seconds I just hung up. I am not able to block numbers on my prepaid phone, so I am stuck dealing with their calls at random hours.

Receive calls from this phone number all of the time. I do not answer, but when I call the number back it tells me it is a non working #... REALLY?

Called my cell, recording about how I need to contact them immediately and to press 1 to speak "to a live operator'. Selected '1' female answered, 'Credit Card Services' then hung up. Tried to call back the number (920) 329-5465 and it says the number has been disconnected.

I absolutely LOVE 800notes!! I never answer calls from numbers outside my area code, but I do later search them online and I always find posts here about the exact same numbers!A huge "Thank you!" to all of you that take the time to post your warnings for the rest of us!!

refinancing message - can't call back

Called my cell around 4:30pm on Feb 19th, 2015. I didn't answer since didn't recognize the number. They didn't leave a message. I'm glad to know it's a scam.

Banks or anybody you owe money to will send you something in writing for you to check out on your own, then decide when you want to pay. I too got a call from a Marcus but he was in India. I dont think they have started naming their kids marcus or if anybody from america named marcus just decided to move to India to start a telemarketing job.Big Scam

Rule of thumb people. Do not answer a call from a number that pops up on your cell phone screen. If it's legit, they will leave a message with contact information you can verify online. EVEN THEN, do not completely trust what you find online until you've verified it through several sources. Chances are if it is a legitimate call regarding a debt you owe or if it's a company you've dealt with previously, you're going to know you owe the debt or the company soliciting you. If it's a solicitor, you are under no obligation to call them back. If it's a debt collector and they've provided you with their company name and number, verify with the company to whom you owe the debt, NOT THE DEBT COLLECTOR, that they have turned it over to a collection agency, then try to work with the company itself, NOT THE DEBT COLLECTOR, to get the debt resolved. If they say it's no longer their problem now that it's been turned over to the debt collector, get a manager on the phone and tell them you refuse to work with the debt collector and that you will only work with them to resolve the debt. Take control of your situation. DON'T let the debt collectors control you!
