this is a real call from an inmate at the jail - it's not a scam and the cops wouldn't be able to get money from you accepting a collect call - the phone company makes the money off of that so not sure where the user below is getting that idea from

Message received stating call missed from correctional facility and directions on how to accept or add money for future calls via credit or debit. Confirmed with voice to voice contact the only person I know near the area was safe and not in custody. Very convincing phishing call.

Shoplc. I don’t mind them calling if I have a problem but they called me 3 times in past 3 days to fill out survey they emailed. If I wanted to fill it out, I would have, I don’t need calls, plus I did fill one out but am still getting calls.

Got a letter that said I applied for an AMAZON card. Called the number to inquire what this was for, they started asking for personal information. When I said no they hung up on me.

Scam debit collector. I say 'scam' because I don't have a credit card, loan, lease, tuition, or debit or any kind. I own my home, vehicle, and everything in them. There's not a single reason for a debit collector to be calling me.
