It is not enough that these people have called twice in the past few days, and both times I told them I was not interested...just now someone came to my house ringing my door bell, claiming to be Veritech. The NERVE!The guy tried to give me the same sales pitch they do on the phone. I said no thank you and he would not stop babbling about Veritech. Finally I closed the door. He yelled something at me...which I could not hear through the door.He seems to be going door to door down my street. Door to door sales are illegal in my town. I would not trust Veritech to protect my grass. They ignore the Do Not Call List, they call despite my asking them not to and they send aggressive, rude sales people to your door!
I've asked them to stop calling. so I'm letting them call all they like ( my recorder gives the name and time they called and keeps it in memory) I'm up to 24 call since Friday. After a week of this I am going to give it to my lawyer. Under Florida law, if you tell a telemarketer that you no longer wish to receive calls from that company, the telemarketer must stop calling you. This law also applies to charitable organizations seeking charitable contributions as well. They will be fined between 500 and 1500 dollars per call. My lawyer says I have to hve proof obviously. This should do it.
The number is for Certified Payment Processing. I called and pressed "2" - the woman who answered said she'd put me on the "do not call" list - and that they KNEW it was a problem. My business gets 5-8 calls from this number A DAY. It had better stop now.
They call our place of business every single day and give no response when we answer... after a few seconds, it starts ringing like it's transferring the call. When I waited to see what happened after, an automated message said "If you would like to make a call, please try again." Their number called us! How does that make any sense? We will have to find a way to completely block this number.
heres what I do in my business. As I'm on the road a lot I forward all my calls to my iPhone. Now when I get a telemarketer I make a new contact with No1. No 2. Etc. I got so many I started adding the numbers to existing contacts. I probably have close to 1000 no numbers in my phone book but anytime a no pops up I don't answer. Could care less. Eventually I'll get em all on my no list.
