Called to let us know that, "As persons who have purchased tickets to Philadelphia Orchestra for performances on Apr 30, May 1-2, there will be no late seating and no intermission for these performances." Caller ID showed "973-439-1745, NJ Call".
Got a call from 800-825-84454 from Susan Baker of National Provider Compliance Corporation. I called back and got routed to a voice mail system. I didn't leave a message. Who are these people?
This number called my cell phone, and was talking about evil kanevil. So I just hung up. It sounded like a pre-recorded messege.
Received a call at 6:09 p.m (odd time since most business hours are from 8-5 or 9-5, first tip this was something not right). My call was from someone named Diane Smith at National Provider Compliance Corporation in regard to some kind of list she was supposed to have sent me with Medicare numbers that had to be finalized by October 1st. Well, I don't have such a list and have no idea who she is. Interestingly, if you Google the 800 number she gave you get nothing, but our voicemail system identifies the number the call originates from right at the beginning, and when I plug THAT number in I get this website and numerous others. But the stories are slightly different, indicating that this must be a scam of some sort. So I have not returned the call, and if I get another one they will be reported to the Attorney General's office here. Careful guys! These people are slick, and if you give them your NPI (National Provider Number -- think about it, "National Provider Compliance Corporation" sounds very much like "National Provider Indicator" -- they can use it for all sorts of illegal purposes. Don't give anyone your NPI unless you know who it is. Hope this helps avert problems for everyone out there.
973-439-1745 This is definitely Family Video's collection line. They utilize an automated dialer and call relentlessly, however it does not mean that you have an account with them, or a video past due, or are in collections. They simply have sloppy database scrub procedures and you may now happen to have the number they had for the person they are looking for. According to a store manager, their official policy is to start calling between 6-8 days rental past due. This is a past due video line, not a collections line. They are good about removing your number but you have to call your local store (Google it) because 973-439-1745 does not accept incomming calls. You're right, it is very rude and inconsiderate of them. But probably legal until enough people complain to the right agencies.
I get calls from this number a couple times a week, I don't answer because its a number I don't know and when I check the voicemail it says to go out and enjoy your life, I call back and get a busy signal or it just rings and rings. WHO is this and how do I get the calls to stop?
I too am in this same situation.... No longer use NAS, quit using them in 2000 but am getting the same treatment you are... and it has started again. Perhaps we should file a claim against NAS... let's talk.
I got a call from "Phil at Corporate" reminding me to get my order in because they would be closed for Thanksgiving.
