When I called the number the message says the number is not in service.

Calls before 9 am and costing my cell minutes.

Has to be spam or scam since I know no one in this area code.. Didn't answer and no V M left. Ontario area code.

Think it was general spam. The caller did not leave a message at the prompt.

Recorded call claiming something's wrong with your account, etc.

They hang up when the answering machine picks up.

This is the third call from this same company since 18 October 2013!

The message is always the same, but the phone numbers change frequently.

I told the caller that I was on the National Registry.

They do not answer but dance around the question.

Fake Directv Scam. If you call the number back it actually sounds like Directv but the very first option is to pay your bill. Block their number.
