I got a reply about a dryer I posted on Craigslist, too. The wording was typical of Ghana and Nigeria scammers, omitting the word "I" at the beginning of sentences. Also, they did not refer to the dryer at all. They wanted to pay by certified check, and arrange pickup, because they are too busy "(US MARINE"). Um, okay,,,sure,,,I replied, asking, "Are you real?", to which they simply replied, "Yes.". LOL :-DHere's their first email, after asking if it was still for sale:"Thanks you for the response according to the description,am okay with the price and the condition pasted on cl. I am ready to make instant purchase.My mode of payment would be in CERTIFIED CHECK and i will arrange for a local pick up as soon as you get the check, because that is the only inconvenient means for me and due to my work frame i can not be able to get there and i promise everything will go smoothly.I really wish to be there to check out the item but i don't have chance cause am very busy person (US MARINE). Concerning the pick up, i will arrange for it after you receive the payment and it clears... I received 4 text messages from this number: prieweamanda: Good morningA Yahoo! user has sent you a message. Reply to INFO to this SMS for help or go to y.ahoo.it/msms.prieweamanda: How was your night this amandaprieweamanda: are you there?I was suspicious at the start because I don't know anybody named Amanda.

I received a text message from this number at around 2:00 am in the morning. Open the message and it said "Hey I promised you pics I couldn't put on facebook. Check them out by joining tinyurl.com/06kljoe" WHAT is this?

Now he is using another name. Michael Gonzalez. He says he is a marine an want to buy my "item" and asked for my adress to send a certified check. I already gave him my adress before I knew he was a scamer. I contacted the police, so as soon as the check arrives we will open a case.

I recieved a couple of text messages from yahoo stating that i had text message reply to y.aho. yada yad yada. I dont use yahoo but my boyfriend had borrowed a phone of mine.the text were addressed to 19534 and some were from 67298 and anon. Sender? I tryied to answer a text and recieved am error for failed febbel attempt than recieved from this 111440602 a simple ;@ unsure what that means. This was in aug and sept 2013. It has been a huge thorn in our relationship due to my facebook and web have been Like they belonged to someone else sence this started. My boyfriend swares he dont know and i'm grasping straws tring to figureout whats going on and who is accountable please help me.

I had received a sms frm 1 111 440 602 this is a yahoo messenger number apparently they are associated either with a company in Nigeria or India they either try to solicit funds or conduct job interviews further checking states that they want youto set up a gmail gtalk account. contacted cell phone provider who placed number on their spam archive listing I textedstop and forwarded number to cell carrier they apparently are getting the numbers if you had or have a active yahoo account...my cell carrier also put my number on sms solicitation opt out which is a service that all cell carriers shouldcarry will be contacting Yahoo on this hope this helps

I just recieved the same email on a craigslist item,, they are still out there.. People stay awake..
