7Am 3 calls no one picks up same number as above. There are rules for telemarketers and I'm sick or these trolls and shills too. Next call was from Jennifer about windows different # at 8AM
Many calls, most no reply when answered with "six.... seven" but one with the scammer on the other end so I took a little of my at that moment otherwise spare time to waste some of his. This is a new number (pretty sure I have heard from the same scammer in the past) for this Indian (pretty sure) computer scammer who seems to think that no one else in the whole world is as clever as he is. Take some time to explore such things as how many computers he has identified of yours that have sent error messages to Microsoft (the truth is exactly none that would result in such a call) and which network or networks is/are involved (again exactly none that he can identify). You could also ask him to tell you which version of Windows you are using (if indeed you are using Windows - the joke on him is a little better if you are using something else) and like as not - unless it is 10 - he will not guess correctly. Just keep in mind that Microsoft does not make such calls. I have no proof but strongly suspect that the source of the problem is Verizon FIOS technical support outsourced to India where the scammer has access to your Verizon account details (name, street or mailing address, etc.) which will be used to try to convince you that he is an employee of Microsoft doing his job. In my case the name he used addressing me was the name on the telephone bill, not the name under which the number is listed (wife's maiden name which is not even similar because it is not in the same language as the billing name: that information is conveniently in one file so having it would not require buying information from multiple sources such as banks.
