Unwanted calls

The reason, you get a 1/2 ring then hang-up is:this is SCAMMERS ,, setting-up the auto-dialers.(checking working numbers.)Expect a new batch of scam-calls to start soon.

Just got a call from this number. It rang twice and hung up. I did not recognize the number and did not answer it.

Rang once..like a lot of others..won't call back as it's a scam

I just got the SAME call! I'm on AT&T, so I don't think it's just Verizon phones.

201-279-5864 called my cell, did not leave a msg., with recent news of scam calls with charges to your cell bill, I am skeptical.

They called while I was on another call. It could have been someone contacting me about work, since many of my clients call this number I called back to see if they needed me to work for them. A machine answered saying they were going to give me a card valued at $100 to shop in local stores and that they got my number from a website I recently visited. I didn't recently visit a website and give my phone number, so I asked the guy how they got my number and he was PUSHY and wanted to know who I was and wanted MY INFO....which he wasn't getting under any circumstances. I asked more than twice how they got MY NUMBER and he NEVER ANSWERED my question...so I told him I was reporting them to the DO NOT CALL complaints and hung up. Good thing I am registered with DO NOT CALL, I have had to report several different numbers. I do not believe that they are really giving out the $100 cards, I think it is a ploy to get peoples personal info, like address and name and other, so they they can 'MAIL' out the 'card' but I think they are just trying to get information and nothing more.
