Strange message. Recorded message stated that by me answering it was a verification of my number. I can only assume that this means I'll get all manner of unsolicited calls.

Just got this call and I think "D" above is right. Just someone signing up for Google Voice and entering a wrong number. It also makes sense that scammer/spammers would use an authentic Google 800# for CID to deflect who they are. They don't care if the blame gets shifted onto Google.The only thing that doesn't make sense is that the automated message jumps right into "here's your verification code". An authenticate Google verification should explain "If you've signed up for Google Voice press 1, etc.", then give out the code based on that. That's what made me wary, coupled with the CID showing "Washington, DC" instead of "Google" or equivalent.

You really think scammers follow directions? Just cause your on the no call registry doesn't mean scammers won't call you, dumbass.

202-455-888 is Google's number which assists people who have forgotten their Google password.

This is a LEGITIMATE phone number, however it may not be used legitimately, by some people. When you use Google Voice, you must register a valid forwarding phone number, & in order to validate that phone number, an automated system - owned & operated, for legitimate purposes, by Google - will call you from this number, & prompt you to enter the two digit code the website provided you. If you aren't using Google Voice & received an automated call from this number, or someone tells you to enter a two-digit number when it calls you, DON'T.

This call continues to come through multiple times per day on my cell phone and you cannot return PC.
