i was called from this number. while i was on the phone with a friend? i was given the code. he said it was to activate his email? here is the number he called from 1+215-618-2656
The 202 number is part of Google Gmail two-stage verification when logging into a Google account. The six digit number is the code you would enter in after entering your Gmail password. If you did not set up two-stage verification, then I would contact Google in case someone was trying to set up an account using your name, or trying to hack into your account.
I also received an automated call a few mins ago from this 202 455-8888. the automated thing gave a verification code and then hung up. I have NO idea what this is about. There was no name, no company, no purpose for the call stated, no nothin. so, I tried to redial the number and got a message stating that your number cannot be reached as dialed ???????? 202 is a Washington DC number ..according to my Caller ID. I'm kinda weird-ed out about it.. there are just TOO many scams going on I'm glad that there's something about this on the net. to help me understand a little better whats goin on. I hope that who ever is doing this can't break into my bank account or something bizarre there IS a utilities commission ( or used to be ) in Washington that should be able to look into this weirdness. I just really dont get the verification code thing. that makes No sense to me. Today is Sept. 10, 2013.
I received this and it said your code is. THis may suggest someone is trying to change your account settings and google calls your registered number in an auto call so you can verify. It is annoying (mine can in at 1 am) but it may be hacckers trying to get access to your accounts. Anyone have any knowledge on this>?
I got a voicemail from +1 (202) 455-8888 from DC, USA today, 9/12/2013 at 3:50PM. It was really quite strange. Anyhoo, the voicemail said, "Eight, zero, nine, zero. Goodbye."Around 4:30PM today I was making a secondary gmail account, and asked for my verification code to be texted to me, and it was. I had just got home at 3:50PM, so it couldn't have been a mistake on Google's part. There's nothing else that has gotten my phone number today, some in the distant past of course, but not recently. I don't have cellular signal right now, so I haven't called back. Does anyone know anything about this or has it happened to anyone else?
