I also had this number call me, claiming my husband needed to pay for his magazine subscription or he would lose the free deal. Husband said he never renewed the subscription. When I don't answer, I get an immediate call from cell phone 424-288-0657. Internet searches suggest it's also a scam.
Calls from this number (appears as Amazon) saying that I owe for a magazine that I never ordered. They claim I owe hundreds of dollars and the are going to charge my credit card. i reported it to Amazon...it is a scam.
My dad has been getting these calls for the last week. They have left messages, and he has talked to them, but thankfully, has never given them any info. They were very aggressive. It's really weird, because it was with regards to a magazine we have given to him as a gift for the last couple of years, but we've never purchased it through Amazon. I have purchased other gifts for him through Amazon, though, and so it makes me worry that my Amazon account has been breached.
We have been receiving phone calls from these folks (this word can be spelled differently) claiming we owe for a 5 year subscription to the Economist, and please provide a card number. Get real! We callled the E and they donot offer subscriptions for 5 years, and they are not trying to colledt from us. These facts didnot slow down the people trying to collect. They work by intimidation!. Best solution so far is hang up immediately.
Amazon calling center you can call about products, orders, and prime, they can help you with your kindle products . They sell almost everything . I do a lot of business with this company
We also got these calls. Per caller ID, we got 8 calls between 6/20/2013 and 6/25/2013, but were only home to answer 2 of the calls. A little confusing at first, because we're long-time subscribers of the magazine they named, and it wouldn't be beyond belief if my husband forgot to include a check when mailing in a renewal notice. But when I asked more questions, it quickly became apparent that it was a scam. The first caller got off the line very abruptly and the second caller started hectoring me about why would I doubt they were the real magazine company, they had all my info, etc.
The folks at 206-266-2992 have called my telephone three times in the past week. Each time the CID says the call is from Amazon, but when I called Amazon's magazine subscription service I was told that the calls were not from Amazon and that Amazon was aware of the obnoxious calls. Much to my disappointment the person I talked to at Amazon seemed to be of the view that there was nothing Amazon could do to prevent the calls. I suggested that Amazon should find out who was responsible for the calls and should then file a lawsuit to have a court issue an order stopping the calls. My wife and I answered two of the three calls and ignored the third call. When they spoke to my wife they told her some make believe story to the effect that her husband had sent in a card to renew a subscription and they needed to "process" the renewal and wanted my wife to agree to renew the subscription. My wife told the caller that she was not going to agree to anything and that they would have to talk to me about anything to do with a subscription extension. The caller wouldn't take "no" for an answer and said several confrontational and demeaning things trying to get my wife to do what they wanted her to do. She hung up.When I talked to them a guy who said his name was "Joshua" told me he was calling because they needed to process the subscription renewal card I had sent to them. I told him there was no such card because I had not sent such a card to anyone. Joshua started arguing with me about whether I had sent him a card requesting a subscription renewal because he said he was holding the card in his hand. I told him I was pretty sure he was lying about having a card in his hand, but that if he did have such a card and he thought I had sent it to him he should tear it up because I was not interested in extending a magazine subscription. He said he was not allowed to tear it up because he was required to "process" the card. I wasted some more time saying rude things to him to see if I could get him to quit and hang up. He didn't. No matter how rude and vulgar I spoke to him, Joshua kept telling me that he was required to process the card because I had sent it. I hung up. I don't plan to answer any more telephone calls from 206-266-2992.
