Judging from a few other posts I think this may be coming from Craigslist. I responded to an ad last night about a dog through e-mail. I do not recall ever listing my number with that site but they got it somehow.
I got a text message from 800@849.net. The phone number that came up was 1 (210) 100-001. It said that I had a past due balance and that I should follow a suspicious-looking link and sign into my account. This seems to be some sort of phishing scheme.

Yes, that does sound suspicious. I got a similar message from the same source this morning. Guess we can just ignore it :)
I have received two texts from this number. One was for a library book I had requested and the other was for a status update on food delivery. Both were solicited by me.Maybe this number is associated with an SMS service like Twilio?

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
