Yes it's Credit One bank. No credit card for me but my fiancee... another story. Yes, she makes timely payments but not timely enough for them. They will call even when a payment is not due. In any case I got sick of the constant calls (usually 7 - 8 times a day starting at 8:30 Am) so I did a little research and the last time they called I picked up, waited until they asked for my fiancee, asked them if they could hear me and said this:"Pursuant to United States Code title 47, chapter 5, subchapter 2, part one, your repeated calls to this number constitute harassing telephone calls in interstate communications. We hereby demand that you cease and desist and put this number on your do not call list."Lets see if that works. I'll keep y'all posted.
Guy with an accent asking for someone named Ronald. Told him no one by that name here. He asked if I knew Ronald, no I don't . Then asks how long I have had this number - 15 years. Apologized and hung up
Concerned Person,This is not a 'scam'. They are Credit One Credit Card Company and they are calling you because they believe you are late on your payment. If you have this credit card and need to make a payment then making a payment will stop them from calling. However, if you are being harassed for no reason OR you don't want them to call you any more please see the response from the other respondent. They have given you some other very good and legitimate options. You can look at their very sound ideas.
Sounds like DickieMA is a real big D-I-C-K! GET A LIFE AND QUIT INSULTING PEOPLE YOU HAVE NEVER MET. Go back in your hole you worthless piece of crap.
Calling you all the time is not a scam. They are a credit card company and those companies usually call because people owe them money, not b/c they are just running a 'scam'. I'm curious to know what scam they are running as this would be important for people to know if they have a credit card with them. A legit credit card company would not be running a 'scam'. Just calling someone over and over does not constitute a scam. Please let us know what they are doing that is a scam.
My fiancee has one of their cards. The call incessantly, 8 - 10 times a day, every day, even if she isn't late with a payment. This is what I did:I picked up the phone when they called and waited until they asked for her. I did not respond to that question. Instead, I asked if they could hear me. They said yes. I then said:"Pursuant to United States Code title 47, chapter 5, subchapter 2, part one, your repeated calls to this number constitute harassing telephone calls in interstate communications. We hereby demand that you cease and desist and put this number on your do not call list."I heard the caller exhale and hang up. I win! Any time you can get a telemarketer or bill collector to hang up, you win. They have not called back and it has been more than 24 hours. Also, that is a real US code. I didn't make it up.
Thank you John! I don't know why people are saying it's a 'scam'. I think people sometimes think that if a company calls you over and over that this constitutes a 'scam' but that is not true. They may be a crappy credit card company but they just want their money.
