I don't know who's calling but they seem to call from different numbers and and never leave a viable message. They call at all hours of the day. This is harrassment!
I have a card with these people. I have made my payments right on time each month. This month, because of personal reasons, I went over my credit limit by EIGHT dollars. My payment isn't even due until next week and they are already harassing me. I got six phone calls today.
I worked as a debt collector a few years back and it is not true for most of the states in the US. A SIGNED & WRITTEN cease and desist letter needs to be sent by certified mail to the company for them to stop calling you. They will continue to call you. I suggest you pick up the first time, say yes its me, then hang up. once contact is made they are not allowed to call you again that day. As far as them being threatening, if it's for unsecured debt like credit cards or school loans, you can document it and probably take it to court. If it is for secured debt like a mortgage or a car, it is not a threat, they are trying to keep you paying for your car or house and its in your best interest to listen up or get repo'd or foreclosed on.
they call 7x's a day, even on Saturday and Sunday and when you answer no one talks but you can hear background noise and someone breathing ????
I have a Cedit One account..........paymnet due on or before the 27th of each month, pay more than the minimum and have a very low balance, and the camel humping [***] are blowing up my cell phone. Already had to change the number at home because they were calling there, but for someone else. DO NOT give them any info....period. Made one of them so mad the told me they were going to sexually assualt me (edited version), then they asked where I would be at 4 and my answer was " If you have my phone number...you should be able to find me, if not try Google or Mapquest."

Left voice mail with sound like a horn.
This caller claimed to be a rep from Intuit/QuickBooks & we needed to renew our Subscription for $1899.99. After asking a few questions things sounded strange. Asked her for our PIN # & she did not give the correct number.
Call came in. Hello, hello. No response. Disconnected. Suspect possibly WELLS Fargo (WF) , but no actual idea. Don't trust one moment.
There are 2 other numbers that are from this same number - 1-800-457-4708 and
1-302-927-3338.
They say they are calling for Clear Springs RX and has family name has health record.
