How nieve everyone is when it comes to the DNC list...these deadbeats call usually from out of the country via Skyp (internet) and they can have any number appear on your phone display...There is no way for the Government or DNC to track these type of calls...I know it sucks as I get nailed with calls all the time...But the DNC list has been around for many years now, this is just a false pacifier from the Government to make it appear they are doing something about it... tell me, have any of you heard of any recourse over the past 10 years against any company that has been complained to on the DNC list??????? I thought so.
I received this call and did not answer it. No message was left. I tried to call it back to see who it was and got a message that it was out of service. Also, there is a Do Not Call Registry for cell phones and my phone is on it. My understanding is that any unsolicitated calls that you have not given permission to use your number are included on the restrictions. Any political and charity calls are exempt from the Do Not Call Registry.
The call started as an automated message - press 1 to lower your credit card cost and press 2 to be removed from the list. I pressed 2 and nothing happened. Shortly someone came on the line. I asked him to remove my phone number from his list and he said "Why should I do so?". I told him I was on the do not call list and he needed to remove my phone number from his list. He then replied "I'm not going to do so", and I hung up.
Damn, he changed his name already! Caller ID states Robert Purdy, or as we refer to him Robert '[***]' Purdy.
They also should not say F#?$ You when you ask if their name is really John.... They shouldn't ask about your sex life... They should not know where you are and tell you to get some milk since they SEE you are at the grocery & then tell you how beautiful you are! They don't care about the laws & offered to call the police for me so I could report them!!!! They are bad people.....
