VERY ANNOYING. I GOT 5 CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER IN AN HOUR THIS MORNING. I HOPE IT WILL STOP CALLING ME. I DONT REALLY KNOW WHATS GOING ON.
My wife got this call, then I got it, I don't know what's going on, she told me that when she called back she got ahold of someone speaking Iraqie. The next day I got the call on my cell phone and when I called back, I was put on hold and music started playing. At first I thought they were delaying and tapping into my phone list on my cell phone. It was very strange, not normal, wierd, as if somthing was not right. I even thought this might be a type of 900 hundred number, which put you on hold while your cell phone account is charged.
Just got this call at 2:30 am in the morning. Had the whole family in panic when they said our credit card was over the limit and the number had been stolen. Everyone has work tomorrow, so this has effected us in more than one way. The person speaking spoke english pretty well.
I just got a call from that number, 214-586-0999 and a lady said she was with "Dick Flamos." I know how to spell this because she spelled it out for me. I said, "No ma'am, I don't believe my boss is interested." Then she said, "Well I have his cell phone number here, so I'll just give him a call on it." Click.
Got a call 7/23 at 8:12am.I live in Northern California and the same thing happened. I called back and only heard the recording. Probably a telemarketer or so.
yeah, Yesterday, I saw this number on my phone, and I didnt pick up. later, i called back, and waited for 12 min. and it said, "please wait while I connect your call" Freaky! anyways................thanks everyone for your research, and answers.
Hopefully this info may help. I use a phone service on my PC called Skype that allows me to call other PC's that have Skype installed, free of charge, and also for an annual fee I can call telephones anywhere in the US with no additional charges. There is also an option to be given a phone number and being able to receive calls from telephones on my PC for an additional annual fee. I don't have the incoming service and therefore I haven't been issued a phone number. Normally when I call people they say the caller ID shows up as unavailable or 0000123456, but this morning I made a call and was told the number showed to be 214-586-0999. This was a first for a different ID other than those mentioned above so I did a google search to see what the results of the number would be and as a result I found this forum. Most likely you're receiving calls from someone using their PC and when you try to call the number back you're not getting the person who actually called due to them not paying to receive calls from phones. It's probably going through a control center of some kind. There could be other reasons, but I wanted to at least mention what I know to be the case here. Have a good day.
I agree with D. Arthur. I got a call from 214-586-0999 earlier today. I was outside and didn't hear the phone ringing in time; the person hung up just as the machine kicked on, so I thought it was a telemarketer. I was in the process of calling the number back to see if I could find out who it was, and my phone rang again with that same number on the caller ID. Turned out that it was my husband calling me through Skype. I don't know why it came up with that number...as D. Arthur said, the caller ID usually says 000-012-3456 when he calls through Skype. Every once in a while, though, it will come up with some odd US looking number, or it'll just say 'Unknown Name, Unknown Number'. Hope this helps someone!
BE VERY AWARE!!! My parents received a call from this number this morning. They asked my dad, who is 77 and wasn't thinking, for his bank account number and next check number. He can't remember whether they asked for his social security number or not. Anyway he gave the info that was asked for and was told that he would receive something in the mail in 3 to 4 weeks. After he hung up, he called me. We went to the bank and had to change his account, we have to change his bank info with SSA, and we had to place fraud alerts with all 3 credit reporting agencies. i called the number back and got really strange music and a repeat recording every little while that said "please wait while I connect your call." I did a reverse look-up on the number and it shows nothing. This could be someone that has been testing the waters and may be moving up to a new level so be very aware!
