On my smartphone I use the CallControl app to pick up these scamming calls and then block them from ever recalling my smartphone again. I purchased the app through the Google Play Store, I am not sure if the app store on Apple's ITunes has this app or not.I just received a call from this number and the Call Control intercepted this call as a spamming call. If this app had not picked it up, I would have answered this call because I live within the same area code. On these calls that show they are coming from various out-of-state area codes, I never answer calls I know one from. After reading the reports above, I am glad the CallControl zipped in and nabbed it before it ever rang! One reports and reports these spamming calls to the Do Not Call Registry but it never seems to slow these calls down or puts a stop to them. I'm not trying to push this app but my life has gotten a lot quiet since getting this app... well, except for my home landline phone. These scamming calls continue here at home. I have yet to figure how my Verizon cell phone number has gotten out there for these scammers to attempt to steal one's identity, as I never ever give this number out for any business purpose. Yet scammers seemed to have latched on over the past few years...with the robo pre-recorded calls to say I've one a trip or something else, or "they" are my credit card company and want to review my credit card account(s) when by personal choice I don't use credit cards!Stealing one's identity, or even attempt to do so, is a Federal crime and yet these calls keep on coming. It's ashame that nothing ever gets done about them to bring them to a halt...or at the very least slow them down. Speaking for myself, it isn't for a lack of trying as I've reported, reported and REPORTED these calls to the Do Not Call List to no avail. As with everyone else who does so, it just gets so frustrating!

Recording told me I won a free trip to the Bahamas.Wonder if it includes meals.

This is sort of a P.S. to my above post.I saw this after I hit "send".The CallControl app on my phone is showing that this 216-630-5554 has been set up to be "US Dept of Ed Loan Scam" set up in the USA. If they get any form of the U,S, government to show up on one's Caller ID... is NOT the U.S. government calling you.I just wanted to add this info for FYI to all who are getting these frustrating calls.

And when you say "Remove this number from your list" the Ruski just laughs.

I answered and it was a recorded message saying I had won a free cruise to the Bahamas. SCAM!

Called my cell phone, did not leave a message.

Received the call and did not answer. No message was left. Returned the call and number is not a working number. Unethical, sneaky tactics. Beware!

Just an FYI upon reading about Ameritech out of Cleveland. I live in the NE Ohio/Cleveland area.Ameritech was a tv cable and phone company here in the area back in 2011. It was taken over by SBCGlobal in which AT&T bought/merged SBCGlobal into the AT&T fold. Ameritech has not been a company for at least 10-11yrs. I believe the whole company was bought & merged by SBCGlobal in its short life before AT&T gobbled it up. I don't believe Ameritech is a functioning business anywhere in the U.S. anymore. It certainly not here.

They called and said there was a problem with my Debit Mastercard, I don't have a Debit Mastercard, never have and never will. This is a scam company.
