I tried to negotiate a lower payment for my debt, and the woman said I was threatening her. These people are extremely rude and will do anything to get as much money as possible.
So why dont you sue them in small claims for what they will not refund you and give them some of their same medicine? Would be phone. You could also call them 10 times a day in the meanwhile.
Never give these people any personal information. And never give them any electronic access to your bank accounts. They are the scum of the Earth.
They told me they are a law firm and if I don't pay them within a months they will take legal action and possibly garnish my wages. Can they do that?
All debts for collection have been out-sourced to trash like this, the debt has been basically written off for a fee to bottom dweller firms like this. They collect as much as they can from you then they are paid flat rate plus any commision on any and all extra they can collect from you and yes they will take it to court, but the chance of garnishment depends on the debt amount because of the court fees.
They call and want personal info before they will tell me who they are I dont give out personal info to any one who calls .There is to many people out there that will steal from you
they are a collection agent and here is their phone number .because it is a 800 number its free to call and keep calling, you do not have to say anything.just keep calling its ties up their phone line and they say they can not get anthing done, well they know how its feels.8002379822 i owe but i am working 1 to2 weeks for half of what i use to make .their hours are 8 to 4 ;45 i have stoped calls from several companys by doing this
Me and hubbs have been dealing with them too for almost a year with little to no results. We tried several times to let them know our situation to no avail. We have been living on broke for almost 2 years. We DID set up a payment plan a year go but shortly thereafter my husband lost his seasonal job at a factory. I tried calling them back but got dead ended. Here is a synopsis of our current situation. Hubbs is contingent at a nursing home with 0 hours these next 2 weeks, I am an unemployed full time student who may no longer be eligible for student aid, we have rent, utilities, and an internet bill to pay as well as food for us and bedding + food for our animals. Lets not forget gas so he can go back and fourth to work, plus we need spark plugs and wires as well as a new tire. Also spare quarters for laundry. Hubbs isn't able to get a bank account, so we live through mine. I lost my job several weeks ago to boot. We can't afford an attorney like you guys are suggesting. We are barely making it, no correction, we literally AREN'T making it by on our own. Internet is a necessity for us because my college is based online. I don't go to campus. They called my hubbs the other day and began asking him personal questions against my better judgment. (I am guilty of screaming obscenities because they almost made my hubbs cry. When I get mad, I see red and I don't know what i'm doing until its done. I do feel bad about that.) He gave our address, and the last 4 to his soc #. I could have killed him. He is now at risk for identity theft and much more. They want to garnish his wages now. What are we supposed to do? I can't find work because it's the middle of summer and everyone is fully staffed. Remember we can't afford an attorney.
you need to read the fair credit report...according to that they cannot garnish your wages or even threaten it ...next time let them know that and that you are recording the phone call. they have been harrasing the same thing to me. also request a debt validation letter. they will tell you know but let them know that legally they have to give you one and untill they provide one you will not send them any money.
