This phone number came up for someone reading from a script claiming to represent a Republican political campaign. It was very dubious that the person was actually calling on behalf of the campaign.
These solicitors are adding another digit to the phone number which comes up on caller ID to confuse us.
Caller asked for my wife by name. I said she was not available. Caller was a man claiming to represent local Salvation Army. Area code not in my local area. Caller asked if I had a few minutes to talk. I replied "not really." Caller said something to me in a soft angry voice and hung up.
