This appears to be a Chicago boiler room operation using at least five different spoofed CID numbers: 217-666-4115, 224-250-9923, 309-270-1933, 519-315-8813, and 630-481-7958. They all use the same set of scam stories. The call source appears to be Chicago because most of the spoofed numbers have Chicago area codes. Do not give any personal or credit card info. Get a call blocker from Amazon.com such as a CPR blocker with a 1200 number blocker list.

None of those area codes are Chicago. 224 is an overlay for the northern suburbs of Chicago, 630 is western suburbs, 217 and 309 are Central Illinois (nowhere near Chicago), and 519 is Canada. The area codes for Chicago are 312 and 773.

Idiot charity scammers with a Dana, IN caller id for a Champaign, IL area code. They're too stupid to even spoof a number & caller id correctly. Looking to get donations for a phony religious charity.

Reread my blog. These appear to be spoofed numbers. Several times the calls arrived within minutes of each other. They all appeared to be reading from the same script. Their timings and the time delay between the calls have all been related to each other. No other scammers that have called me have this type of timing consistency. The reasonable conclusion is that these particular calls are all originating from the same location. May the bird of paradise drop a token on their heads.

read your mythology. The number 666 and 999 are often referred to as the devils number. By the way, I just got calls from two of these numbers again! Go ahead and donate to the scammers bank account.

The entire Chicago area is noted as a vipers nest of scammers. The entire Chicago area with area codes of 214, 224, 312, 323, 331, 630, 708, 773, 779, 815, and 847 are areas of multiple scammer operations. The Chicago scammers are branching out and using other spoofed area codes in central Illinois. Most of these scammers operations are using spoofed numbers and names.

Charities that employ telemarketers are rarely, if ever, worth your consideration. It's not unusual for telemarketers to keep 90% of your donation for themselves, sometimes 100% if quotas aren't met. Some are scam outfits posing as do-gooders to get your personal information for identity theft and/or financial crime. And people who donate via phone may have good hearts, but their misinformed decisions encourage the continued proliferation of telemarketing scams on the public. And NEVER give via phone or give out financial information to ANYONE who calls you!

Call blocker dumped this scam operation again. Only way I know they called was the record they left on the caller ID.

There is no West Dana IL. Dana IL is in 815 area code and a town of about 500 people or less.
