Got a call on my home# today, 11jun15 @ 1.51pm. Caller id shows: "WilliamsburgMI" and "231-267-8110". No message.
they called my parents 4 times in one minute. First time it showed up as its number, then the rest it said "TEST". I've taught mom well, so she knew to hang up the first time. Jackoffs.....
The phone rang twice and then stopped. This is typical of the robo-calls.When I complain to members of Congress about these calls that are transmitting spoofed phone numbers to people’s Caller ID displays, I am told that there is nothing that can be done to trace the actual sources. That is a crock! If the President of the United States was threatened by one of these unwanted callers, you’d see just how fast the source would be tracked down! The problem is that the big telecommunication companies are making money hand over fist with all of these long distance robo-calls and they don’t *WANT* the problem stopped. And guess who donates loads of money to these legislators’ campaign funds? The big telecom companies, that’s who.Until this scam is exposed for what it is — with the telecom companies and members of Congress being held complicit — you and I are going to continue to have our privacy invaded by criminals who couldn’t care less about any ‘Do-Not-Call’ list!
Originating in China, rerouted through server switch located in US: Michigan. Unothorized with potential for cell phone trace,
Take whatever effort you want to block these 'scummers' (scammers and scum put together), but my way is quick, easy, and provided by my phone service: it's called CALL REJECTION, or *60 service by my phone company. I can add the last number that called in about 10 seconds flat. The only problem (a significant one, unfortunately) is that the service is limited to 25 numbers. After it's full, I purge the whole thing and start again. It takes a while to fill up, so some numbers don't seem to repeat. Not an ideal solution by any means, but still an available service that works.
My turn in Atlanta. Once again, I Googled the number, saw the comments here, and punched the "blacklist" button on my call blocker on the third ring. Thanks, y'all!
