Got a call from this number that is a recording of getting my credit debt percentage down. I don't have any credit cards. Press 1 to tall with a real person, or 3 to not be called back - pressed 3.
I actually have pressed 1 to talk to an operator several times and asked them to remove my name from their list. So now they call and don't talk.
New number to add to the "Rachel from card services" scam list. This time the caller ID said TEST. That's a new one for me?
They called 12:42pm on 10/01/14. They didn't leave any message, caller id is just "Williamsburg MI". Spammer is too nice of a word, it's kind of cute and downplays the activity. These people are THIEVES, no different than someone who takes money from your pocket, or who break into your house.
Who ever it was that called did not get the phone answered! Find out who this group is and put them in jail!!!!
They called and hung-up. I looked -up area code and saw Muskegon , MI. I appreciate all of the comments here and want to add something to the discussion. To go to the root of the cause we must ask what trusted entity is giving out our phone numbers to begin with? I recently called my credit card bank in order to confirm my PRIVACY CHOICES. I was dismayed to hear the rep tell me that I would probably stop getting telemarketing calls within 30 days. I NEVER gave them permission for that use of my phone # to BEGIN with! Further, I have for YEARS doggedly tried to make that issue clear with ALL of my financial institutions! One bank rep confided in me that our preferences can EXPIRE in 5 years. ..( And obviously without notice to us --other than the required yearly privacy notices). Pay attention to those and don`t assume that banks are necessarily respecting your wishes. I also once read a disclaimer that stated my personal info could be used even if I cancelled my acct.!
