It's the "I'm calling from Windows Support" SCAM. Heavy Indian accent. Barely understandable. Block it. These are the infamous Indian Scum Bags.
calls emulating an overseas call. heavy accented voice. says your computer has a bug turn it on now.I called my contractor that said that it is Microsoft scam again--check number and call them.Contractor gave me his only call-back number.scammer--dangerous
Second call from this number. Scam. Same story that others have told. Cheap family entertainment. Decided to mess with them. Said I did not use computers but my daughter did. Where were they calling from again "Windows technical support abt a problem with our computers" & your name? "Kevin" How do you spell that?.... Then a woman comes on the line - saying she was going to fix our computer. Asked that we find the ctl button. Ironically we *couldnt* find it. My daughter has dyslexia so read off the sounds she could see starting with FINNNN (FN). We have been recording the conversation & had been since abt 15 secs in. The woman kept asking us to start the computer. We kept seeing a "black screen". We *suddenly realized that it had a flat battery*, had to go *find* a charger. Told to plug it in. We replied, the battery was out. "Why is the battery out?", because of the radiation that we had read about on the internet. "What kind of computer is it - a laptop or a desktop?" Us: what's the difference? Scammer "You don't know the difference?" US Nope. "a desk top has a tower, a laptop sits in your lap". Us: ok, umm laptop. "How old is your computer?" Us: 17yo. Scammer "Oh GOD!l This went on a bit longer and the scammer changed again to the male Kevin. Repeat of the same scam info. We are 11 mins in Then suddenly the scammer said "Why are you wasting my time?" US: How about you look in the BLEEP mirror! Scammer:" why do you want talk with me? You don't have a boyfriend? THere is no one there with you to talk with? You love me right?" Us: married. Scammer: "you love me, you love talking to me." Scammer (after I come on the ph) clarifies that he loves me, then requests to speak with my daughter, his future wife. Little did the scammers know (they do now, I'm sure they read this stuff), we have recorded the entire conversation. Will be submitting a complaint to the FCC along with recording & ph number. Also giving the recording to the local police AND making a complaint & giving recording to the FBI who are interested in these financial scams. Any evidence helps. Called number that showed on caller ID and it is spoof number.
Called, told me he was from the department of windows support. I told him I had called Microsoft In Seattle Washington. They said there is no such department. At that point he got very defensive, rude, then hung up.
Twice a day for weeks. They call both a.m and p.m. I have them blocked but they still call.
I just recieved a call from this number - ditto everyone else, an Indian guy saying he's from windows support wanting me to log on to my computer so he could remove "lots of viruses" that are on it. I tried to keep him on the line as long as I could(several minutes) before I eventually ended up telling him I don't respond to scammers - he told me I don't know anything, I responded that he doesn't know anything, he again said I don't know anything, I repeated that he doesn't know anything, and he finished by saying "you don't know anything - you are a stupid person" and then hung up.I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO KEEP THESE SCAMMERS ON THE LINE FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN- have fun with trying to mess with them, it gets them really irritated after they realize that THEY are being played!
