Same scum, different Spoofed number - 234 217-0305 Caller ID "Ohio" - Typical scum bag human sewage scam call... Augmented a "big red button" call blocker with a Sentry Ver 2.2 Call Blocker in Mar '15 - the Sentry is the newest form and has better tech than the old reliable CPR Big Red Button Ver2 Blocker that's been in service since late June '14. The Sentry blocks ALL the incoming trash that's hit it so far, if it maintains the length of service the CPR has demonstrated it is the better unit to have... Having both does have a few nice effects - the CPR keeps a running total on what number has called how may times - current "winner" is 43 calls blocked from the same number. The jackturds that do this crap keep changing the spoofed number and trying tricky crap in the dialing string to get past the blockers but it doesn't work ;> The CRP Blocker sees non phone number strings and odd characters after the call when that last number is added to the blocked list - The Sentry Blocker just plain dumps their call to the crap pile... In this case the CRP Saw 4613 as the number to add to it's blocked list vs the phony spoofed 234-217-0305. Sorry Turds, trying to get cute didn't work, welcome to dumpedville :>It is great to have the turds get shunted straight to the SCREW U bucket with the Blockers doing their thing :> May they waste Thousands of $$$s calling (even though I'm sure it's just pennies). Weeks ago the FCC released another completely meaningless load of BS about how they are "TAKING ACTION !!!" against the types doing this stuff and it will cost them $1,500 a call !!! I haven't seen any difference in the call pattern of scum bags wasting time on me... GOOD LUCK COLLECTING a penny off of any of these scumbags or getting one less call from them until the penalties are more like a Drone launched HellFire up the rear end of everyone of them doing the calling AND the "Management" above the "human drones" doing the phone work...Tempting as it might be, it's best to NEVER answer these turd's calls and engage them - it only puts your number on the auto dialer's "call more" list since it confirms the auto dialed number used is a "live number" with a possible sucker on the end... They could not give a crap less if you ask to be "Taken off the list...."A "no one there" call is what I interpret as a "probe" call just to see if there is a pickup or answering machine worth calling back. It's mostly all automated so the scum just act as drones waiting for a pickup and possibly a voice - I still get lots of the one time "probe" type calls followed with a few that are repeat call numbers for a few weeks then all the numbers and CIDs get changed to different ones to try for all new people they can try and defraud.Too bad there is no listing in the "Call Type" that actually matches the real manner of the scum making the calls - there should be at least "Scammer" in the list.... Some where there may be an actual valid telemarketer making unwanted calls...and that's the only case that "telemarketer" really fits...
Both my home phone and cell phone numbers are on the do not call list, but I get unknown calls quite frequently. I don't answer, but I agree with your sentiment -- a lot of good that does.
Ohio listed - The lower your credit card rate - SCAM - one of the many numbers these sleazes call from . SCAM .
DO NOT CALL THEM BACK! This is how the "one-ring scam" works (from ScammersUncovered dot com): First you’ll receive a phone call from an unknown number. True to their name, they’ll ring once and hang up. If you call the number back, you’ll be put through to an international number who will charge you premium rates, and drain all of the dollars from your account. You won’t find out exactly how much has been charged, until your phone bill knocks the wind out of your sails. The easiest way to prevent scam callers is by being aware of them. Never answer calls from unidentified numbers. If you want to know who called you, use a Reverse Phone Lookup to safely identify unknown callers. Only when you know that the caller is someone you can trust, answer or give them a call back. Most of these scumbags are offshore, so good luck trying to get any justice after the fact. The US Do Not Call Registry means nothing to them, unfortunately. The best thing you can do is to be wary of unknown phone callers. Always, ALWAYS use a reverse lookup when the number ends up in your phone log. If it’s an important call, the caller will leave a message — and even then, be wary. I added the phone number to my phone book, and then blocked the phone number. Never press any numbers, it also lets the caller know what time that you are home.
My husband and I are both on the no-call list also and we get spam calls on a daily basis. I am going to research it and find out what if anything we can do to stop it. Keep you updated.
I have an unlisted number and am the Do Not Call Registry but still get 5 - 6 calls a day from these robo calls!
Received call on cell. Called back from a LAN line to get a prerecorded robo message to be added to their do not call list. No name or company provided. BLOCK.
Get a call from this number every few days. I usually press 1 to lower my card interest and find out that I am caller 8+ in line so I hang up. Today I pressed 1 to lower my credit card interest and spoke with a real person! After my "Why the @#$% do you call me every couple of days, I do not want these phone calls, I do not have credit cards, I am not interested in credit cards" rant, I found the line dead. They hung up on me. Not wasting my time calling them back. So much for a donot call list.
I was so glad that this was the "final" chance to lower my interest rates. I might be safe until "Carmen" or "Rachel" goes to another company with a different phone call. I hate to listen while the phone keep ringing from these scams. I usually press one and then try to keep them on the line as long as I can. I figure if they are waiting for me, they aren't scamming someone else. I think that they have smartened up on this tactic. They don't stay on very long anymore. I don't think that I wasted a minute of their time this time.
