Received a call from this number stating they were from Windows calling about my computer and the number of errors in my software. I said, "so you actually work for Microsoft?" They replied yes. I hung up. connection was full of static and the female caller had a foreign accent.

This call is made from a computer not a phone.

I get this call every day twice a day even Saturday nights- I don't answer- today I blocked it. I never answer unknown numbers. Verizon can block up to 10 calls at a time - a smartphone can instantly block the number.

I have told them to stop they apologize and say they will stop the calls but they they call back.So when they called next time. I put earplugs in my ears asked them to stop then used a air horn.Wow they stooped calling.

Young lady with heavy accent on noisy line said she's calling from Microsoft Technical Support to fix errors on my computer.I recognize this as a scam; decided to play along to see where it leads. No worries since I don't even run Windows.Had me run commands to identify "computer security identification" (which was actually some common sequence, possibly version ID or some such). Then had me look at some kind of activity log that showed routine errors and faults. Told me this was sign of a severe virus and that they were going to help me.Directed me to a web-site for Supremofree. It's a facility that allows a remote user to access your computer and take control of it. WHOA NELLY!!!I said that Norton has blocked the website; she transferred me to a young man (also heavy accent, not quite fluent English) who tells me my Norton is outdated and to turn it off.I excused myself for a bio-break, put him on mute and listened. There was some side-conversation, first in English about my having gone off and then in a language I couldn't identify. I came back on and told them that I've gotten through to the site and he tells me to download it.When I asked about it allowing him to take control of my computer, he said it "goes through the Microsoft server" and will enable him to "fix" my computer. [Yeah! I'll just bet!]At that point, I'd had enough, so I asked a personal question: "Is it worth it?" I.e., how long does it take before someone will actually bite and let you get into their computer, and how much money can you steal from them?At first, of course, he got indignant that I could suggest such a thing: This was a group of honest technicians from Microsoft! Am I "mentally retired" not to trust them?I said I liked scams like that and would like to join their organization, provided they stole enough money to make it worthwhile. He asked if I had any idea what qualifications were required to join his organization; I said "I guess you have to live in India and not speak very good English".That got to him. How dare I suggest India? So I said, "or Pakistan or Bangladesh or Myanmar, somewhere around there in that group of languages", (going by his accent). The dam broke: "I'm calling from Afghanistan! I hate the United States! You guys sent in your military and f*cked up my country! We can handle the Taliban by ourselves! We don't need you!"Wow! I believe this last was a glimpse of their true motivations. These characters aren't simple thieves; they are trying to crack through and do real damage...

These people are from India and they are selling Viagra, Cialis and other medication that are manufactured there and they sell it here at a very cheap price. I made the mistake of calling them one day a year ago. I heard an ad on 1010WINS news radio about purchasing these drugs cheaply. I called 800-908-5260 and placed an order to see what it was all about. That started a landslide of calls from 234-567-890. They come through as SALEM OHIO on the caller ID because that is the area code and exchange of Salem, OH. But they are disguising the phone number. When I placed my initial order I was told to call 800-276-9121 if I did not receive my medication. It took well over a month for it to come to me in a tiny brown box with all stamps from India. I had to sign for the parcel at the Post Office. This is a nightmare as my pleas to stop fall upon deaf ears, yet they insist and try to engage you in a conversation. If I could reach out and smack them over the phone, I would!

I goaded this guy until he got mad enough to tell me what I believe was the truth:"I'm calling from Afghanistan! I hate the United States! You guys sent in your military and f*cked up my country! We can handle the Taliban by ourselves! We don't need you!"These characters aren't just simple thieves; they are trying to crack through and do real damage...

I constantly get calls from this number, along with (234) 567-899, no one talks and when they do they're trying to sell me porn or try to have inappropriate conversations with me. I recently found out that if you call (888) 382-1222 which is the FTC & you put your number on the "Do Not Call" list they will stop calling within a few days.

They knew my name too.I Google'd my phone number. Found my name, even though it's supposed to be unlisted. It would be an easy thing to link an autodialer to an automated lookup, so they have in front of them the name of whomever they're calling.Try Googling your phone number; it's a good bet anyone can find your name that way.

Called, asked for me by name 3 times then hung up. I called them back and asked what type of outfit were they running, and he said, "I don't want to know." Definitely some type of scam. Blocked
