i got a call from a guy using this number...he just hung up on me when i asked "who's calling?" ..i have a strong feeling he's a scammer! so beware of this number
on the 4th call from this number today, i finally got someone to speak. says they are from Virtualpcdoctor.com in New York, and they have found corrupted files on either my windows pc or mac. also his name is Chris Tucker... ha! funny. when I told him I have filed a complaint with the FTC, and that there are hundreds of complaints about this number, he got pissed off and hung up. don't waste your time. file a complaint!
I've been getting these calls for several weeks. First it was the guy with the accent wanting me to sign up for a computer analysis. i told him no thanks, wasn't interested and hung up. Calls continued so I returned the call and got a recording from the Federal Trade Commision about some email scam. I'm going to call the FTC soon and find out what's going on.
I got a call from this number about three times now. Its a good thing my hearing is bad because i just told him I am not interested. And yes, his english is hard to understand. Can some authority stop these people from calling. Next time. I am calling the police.
I've been called (at my home in Canada) twice now by 253-802-0308. I answer the phone and say hello, hello? And then it sounds like a creapy old lady saying "good bye"... It's weird...
I got the same call from this guy this afternoon saying the same thing. My computer was compromised. I told him that I brought my computer in for sevice. This number called my house as well a month ago. Same line. Please someone go and arrest this guy. He's scummmmmm.
Calls from this number had stopped for about a week. But now they have started again. I went to donotcall.gov and posted a complaint. I have answered and asked them to quit calling. They are very persistent. So, this evening I answered and listened to the pitch and when she asked me to go turn my computer on, I said 'okay'. She said she would wait. With that I laid the phone down with no intention of going back and talking to her. They are paying for the call so I let them wait until they got tired of waiting and hung up. That took at least 15 minutes. I simply don't know what else to do. Maybe if we all did that they'd get tired of waiting and paying for dead air time.
Well, paying for dead air time didn't stop them either. Just got another call. A lady named Jasmine I believe, with an accent. When she said that she believed I was using a computer with Windows OP, I asked 'how do you know that'? and she replied she'd gotten the info from Microsoft. I said, 'Well, isn't that strange since I don't even own a computer!'. So then she said she must have gotten the wrong info and she'd report that to Microsoft. I said 'please do!' End of call.
Carrie - the 253....number has been calling me for weeks but today i answered for the first time - noise in the background like a call center - same heavily accented man called and said the same to me about windows error messages and serious virus - he was trying to find out information by asserting that i had licensed software - i refused to confirm or deny any of his claims and just kept asking him his name and where he was calling from - he said ALVIN working for MICROSOFT WINDOWS LICENSED USER TECH SUPPORT .....in the end he got angry and hung up when i was telling him that he was a total scam
