I got a call from this number yesterday and from everyone else' posting its sounds to me that someone at textnow is doing the cranking. because I too have textnow and it seems to only call people who have textnow.
Was in class and got a call and this guy started breathing weird and saying hey slowly...Weird
So this morning around 8 am I got a call from an unknown caller ID and I answered and there was no response and a few minutes ago around 11:50 they called again it said unknown number and I answered and I saw the number 299-999-9999 and they said hi I'm calling to inform you that you out of 1700 people in your state of Washington have been randomly selected to win $9000 . You have been selected because you have paid off all your bills and taxes on time . And I was like uh I'm 18 I haven't paid any bills or taxes yet like I just got out of high school. I am not interested.. and she said ok ma'am I understand but.. then I cut her off and said no I am NOT interested do not call this number again and I hung up. This is a scam they want your card number to "transfer" money. But really they want to take it . This happened to my aunt . Avoid this number
Area code 299 is NOT from Canada. In North America area code 299 is unassigned. +299 is however the country code for Greenland.
That number is simply one of the ID numbers of someone that calls you using a *67 number. It is simply an anonymous way to make a call, and can be anyone.

It is a legit PNC Bank phone no. I wrote out a $12000. check and they called to verify and had the last 3 digits of checking acct. on message.
