Oh I had some fun with these guys, I was able to waste about 10 minutes of their time. They started with the usual bit, they are from my computer's support company. So I went along with them and kept saying "ok, I have shut it down like you told me to". No no, start it, ohh ok. Then wait about 30 seconds and say, everything is black. I shut it down again. It took them 10 minutes to figure out I was screwing with them. Have fun!
Get a telephone system in the Panasonic KX-TG7875s series. It has a call block feature, where you enter numbers like this and the next time they call, your phone will instantly answer the call (tying up their robocall equipment), then gives them a busy signal and hangs up on them. I rarely get a call back from these numbers after that.
Even thought I NEVER answer a number or name I don't recognize, I still receive several calls a day from these- and other- losers. Caller ID is worth it's weight in gold.
Like the hundreds of others who have posted here I got the "there is a problem with your computer" call from this number; when I picked it up I played along for a few minutes, just to see where it was going, but the guy was so hard to hear and understand over what sounded to be a bad VOIP connection I gave up and hung up. He immediately called back but I let it ring through to voice mail and he hung up after 5 rings.
Man with heavy indian accent tried to tell me my windows computer was sending a signal of a virus. He claimed to work with Windows! Wanted me to confirm his story on my windows computer. Horse Hockey!
