The calls are made in an attempt to gather working cell phone numbers and credit card numbers, as well as get not-so-educated folks to buy something. The hex-curse nonsense is directly targeted at a group/subculture still immersed in belief in such things. That's the reason the calls are in Spanish, and not in English. English scams are called charities or political causes lol. =/
bla bla bla... you all say the same [***], i read it over and over again. if you sign up for ANYTHING and use your phone number you're gonna get calls.. duh people. you expect anything different from this world of scum and scams.. you really what to be afraid of the phone? look you "trap and trace" and the "PEN registry" than you can get scared about using your cell phone anywhere and anytime!! Voice your opinion about the "Patriot Act" and maybe things will change. Probably not..

If you sign up for alerts with your credit cards they sell every number you use on your credit card account to these types of places. You have to deal with it if you want fraud alerts sent to your cell phone. Rule of thumb : If you do not recognize the number that is calling press the volume button on the side of your cell phone once. It will stop ringing and will send them to your voice mail. They never leave a message. Then they would have to leave a call back number and deal with the gadzillion complaints. They have a spoof number to show up on your caller ID that is always disconnected. Just some of the crap you have to deal with daily these days. Don't stress. Just go about you day's and life. I am an expert at avoiding bill collectors and calls like this. The bill collectors get the money when I darn well feel like sending it ( I already ruined my credit years ago so I don't care) and I don't answer calls unless I recognize numbers of people I know.Bill collectors can not get money from someone who has none. they can not put you in jail, but they will use your phone numbers to continually call and harass you several times a day. Applied Bank is my favorite. They have cell phones with area codes from all over the country that they rotate every day.
If they call you without permission, use a robo-caller, give you an automated message they are in violation of TCPA, if they're a debt collector, they are in violation of TCPA and the FDCPA
