Guy with Microsoft Corp said that my computer has been hacked and that my computer would be locked. Told the person that I have recieved this call a few days before, he asked what i did. I replied nothing. He said that my computer would be locked, I said that would be ok with me, he hung up.
I get calls from these fraudsters multiple times per day. It's definitely a scam from Microsoft. Very savvy way to prey on people who don't know any better!
Just to be clear, it's not a scam from Microsoft, they are scamming people by pretending to be Microsoft.

I called Citibank's other number and confirmed this was their Consumer Support number. It is legitimate. Processed the information they needed to verify my account. I originally thought it was fraud but it is real.

We receive calls at our place of business from these people every day and they claim to be with Spectrum. It sounds like a call center in India; noisy background noise and each person who calls has a strong accent.

debt collection agency asking for somebody who used to have this phone number
Evidently gets next if kin names from obituaries and calls them all, over and over. Will not say what they are calling about until you give birthdate and ssn of the deceased.
