We used to get calls like this at work all the time. We used to say 'Just a minute please.' and then put them on hold or lay the phone down. After they get tired of building up long distance charges they eventually hang up. You get 'permanent signal' tone to indicate a laid down receiver can be hung up.

Phone harassment continues. The other day, it was a call late at night. Then today it is this number. Caller ID says Detroit, Michigan. I have a sick friend in Detroit, so I looked up the number to be sure it was not from there. Stop already, people. I pay for this phone for my convenience, not for every scammer in the world to call.

I been receiving calls from this 313-989-0088 for 2 weeks now. They don't leave a message and call very early in the morning. If you don't pick up the number they call back from an unknown phone number. I picked up the 313-989-0088 call and an India guy was on the line and they knew my name. I asked who it was and they just hang up. One time I picked up the unknown number and the same India guy was on the line and they called me by my first name. I asked what it was about and they totally just hung up. They called several times in one day and I had told them to take me off their calling list.

I called this number from my work number and they did not speak english...this continued to talk to me as if he was selling something until I hung up.

2nd bizarre call I've gotten today *from two entirely different #s. The other was from a "payday loan" place.), and I have applied for a job via monster.com recently. This is the only way I know of that they could have gotten my number & my 1st name. Accent here too -- could have been Indian. Legitimate business leave voicemails, or at the very least are happy to identify themselves.

This phone number belongs to scam artist, who operate outside of the USA.
