They called my cell phone, but left no message. Here's how I stop these calls: I save the number to my Contacts list, and assign the name as "Domino". The next time they call, and I see the Caller ID as "Domino", I simply answer the phone and say, "Domino Pizza; may I take your order please". They NEVER call back.
4 calls from these clowns just in the past hour. Thank goodness for NoMo dropping the hammer on the fools.
Got the "I'm calling from the government in Washington" call others here have reported, even though the number that came up on my phone, 323-524-0755, is LA-based. Man with a thick foreign accent (sounded Middle Eastern or South Asian) told me I'd won a special, one-time grant of $9000 to use towards anything I wanted as long as it wasn't illegal. Offered me 3 ways to collect it: direct deposit, put it on a "plastic" card, or pick it up at Western Union. After playing along I finally asked how he got my number. He replied "From your wife's p*ssy" and hung up.At that point I knew it was a scam -- I have never given my wife's p*ssy my phone number, just my email address.
I received several several calls from this number..I did not answer.. After reading. Comments on this web site, I blocked the caller. Thanks for these postings.
I constantly receive calls from such numbers between 5 and 6AM. Today's call was from 323-524-0755. They hang up when answering machine picks up. Reported to donotcall complaint line, and is today's addition to the numbers to be blocked from my provider.
Been getting these calls for days now won't leave a message and when I answer they either hang up and call back 3 more times. Or when I tell then I'm not home they want to speak with family member.
This guy with an Indian or African accent said he was from the Computer Center. "What's that?" I asked. Of course he said he was from Windows computer. I asked him what kind of computer I had--played with him for a bit. Told him he was a fraud and I was recording his conversation. He didn't even realize the number showed on my screen. I finally hung up. The Windows scam happens about once or twice a week. He said, as they all do, that my computer was going to crash.
Told me I was approved for a 5000 dollar loan wanted me to send them $300.00 first because my credit wasn't the best when I went to do a moneygram they told me to not do it didn't work. Then they told me to western union them the money to a name I couldn't been say. Thank god for giant food store's they told me it was a scam and don't do it!
