I just received a call from them scammers today!!! Apparently this has been going on since December.
this number is calling again..I am on a do not call list but that does not seem to mean much. No message was left when my answering machine came on but I did read the posts on here. For heavens sake DO NOT press 1 when they ask you to...they could be hooking into your line and using your long distance to who knows where. They do not know what credit cards you have unless you are stupid enough to give them that info and they certainly can't lower your rates, only the company you have your card from can do that...total scam...too lazy to get an honest job.
If you are with Eastlink, you can block the caller after they call by dialing *60 and then #01# to block the last caller. It only stops 12 numbers and then you have to clear the list and start all over again. I am on the National Do Not Call List but these idiots keep calling anyways. You report them and the company gets a huge fine.
None of this will be solved until both American and Canadian citizens write to their federal representatives (US - congress & senate, and Canada - MPs, respectively) to demand that the FCC and CRTCand law enforcement (FBI & RCMP respectiely) actually CO-OPERATE closely to block tele-scamming calls on a CROSS-BORDER basis.Until then, Americans will continue to be plagued by calls placed cross-border by Canadian scammers and Canadians will continue to be plagued by calls placed cross-border by American scammers. Each country has regulations in place to prevent internal tele-scamming but no elected officials seem to have much interest in championing cross-border co-operation...... which seems odd given that we have NAFTA and a comprehensive agreement on border security, etc., But until the public in both countries makes a big ruckus, scammers will continue to make life difficult for people to the north and/or south of them. Personally I think robo-dialling, tele-scamming and caller ID spoofing should be capital offenses - as should email spamming. It would only take one conviction and execution for those industries to dry up!
WCA Subscriber Services. They got more than 100 numbers across the state. No way to be taken off from their call list.I don't owe anyone anything. I really don't know why they keep calling me for lower my CC rate.watch out for the following numbers too.(201)373-8347(302)394-9542(386)233-3694(404)891-6935(630)869-6891(714)551-9717(856)295-5655
Same problem I had. I didn't have too many problems until I put my number on the DO NOT CALL list. That is when I started to be hounded by numerous telemarkers. I guess the person who said that we have been deceived by our government who has been selling the numbers to telemarkers is right. double ugh!!!!
My phone company (Telus) has call advance forwarding what I do is I take all the numbers I don't want and put them on my call forwarding list. (up to 25) Then find a fax machine number from another un wanted callers site and just forward those number to that fax machine.
I live is Canada, why would I be receiving calls from Florida about a "Credit Card"??!! Something's not right!!
