I too live in Canada and kept getting calls from this number. I just did as someone else pointed out and blocked the number from my phone by choosing Menu - Save - Block. Worked perfect!!

1 386 233 3694 called about our credit card. They not only gave us final notice that it's about to expire but that we could get a lower interest rate on it as well. Below it asks "CALL TYPE" & limits the response to pre-selected categories without including a "PROBABLE CRIMINAL" amongst them!

Many of these calls are from telemarketers based in Florida.Corporate behaviour in the US is to ignore laws, until told to comply. This is the way they do business. The penalties are not high enough for this not to pay.Florida must be particularly favourable to this behaviour.I report these calls on a regular basis to The Attorney General of Florida, it does seem to help, but then the perpetrators just get a new number.Maybe I will contact the Florida Tourist dept, and tell them about how I will do nothing to support Florida in any way due to this. I am thinking of having my answering machine in the basement, and a message saying that I never answer this phone due to telemarketing calls, so do please leave a message, and if you are important to me, I WILL return your call. I like the call forwarding to a fax number idea, that might work, too. Maybe one of those Panasonic phones might be a good idea, I will look into that. Then we can all program in the numbers ahead of time. I really have to get this sorted out, these morons are disturbing.

We get those types, if our call display dont say who you are we dont answer, plus we just hang up on them while ringing.

It was a woman speaker.So we pressed 1 and the woman that answered said, "So I understand that you're interested in lowering your interest rate."We responded with, "You couldn't be further from the truth. I want you to remove us from your calling list."She hung up around the time we said remove.
