I have complained about some of the more obnoxious repeat callers, to my State Attorney General. He is as worthless as the callers. I have never even gotten a return email or call, or had any action taken. It's useless. I usually don't even pick up the phone, or I pick it up and then hang up when an out of state area code shows up on my caller ID. Some charity solicitors call continuously and if I accidentally answer without thinking, when they ask for me, I just tell them I am the babysitter,
Most of you are right. The caller(s) are probing passive recall information pertaining to their clients (Disguised as surveys). Some of whom are Direct TV, Cigna, Macy's and EyeMed Vision Care, to name a few. Guess where they got your number from? Privacy policies? Yeah, right!
They said on the phone they were with Convergys and are asking survey questions for USPS customer service. No weird questions asked basic satisfaction with the company and how likely to recommend them to a friend. No questions on how much money you make either... I hate those ones! Pretty straight forward survey; they called because I had just spoken with USPS customer service a couple days ago. I don't think this is a scam; I think they have several large companies they do market research for. Only bummer is they call at night.
Called a private business back line that is unlisted in the phone book, left no message
This research firm called Thursday . . . I had them checked out by our research dept. They are a legitimate market research firm that works primarily with insurance companies, particularly CIGNA, METLife, and others. They are NOT necessarily calling customers of those companies but are doing broad market research. It is not a scam, and as others have noted, research firms are specifically exempt from the Do Not Call registry and process. If you do call them back they should honor your request to not be called, however that will apply only to the particular project they are working on at the time they called. The company is headquartered in Ohio, the call center is on Nebraska
You said the magic word--Comcast. I have Comcast internet and I believe that's why they keep bothering me. I received an obnoxious call from Comcast last week offering a promotion. They are a bunch of crooks and I know how their promotions work--I hate them, but they have no competition here so we are stuck with them. When I told the guy NO, he started yelling at me so I hung up. That's probably why they keep having Convergys call me.
I'm getting these calls too. I got one yesterday and one today. I let the answering machine pick it up but they hung up both times...
Are you kidding? I don't have a phone so I can be bothered by ANYBODY. Screw them if they chose a profession that invades the privacy of others.
Received a call from this number on 1/7 at 4:40pm Mountain Time. No idea who they are and they did not leave a message.
