a woman called from that same number and said she was from sun trust bank . She said she was doing a survey . She ask me How i liked my service at a branch I never heard of . I said we use only a certain branch there has been a mistake .and she hung up on me
I've gotten two calls on a number from the free Safelink phone. I have not given it to anyone. I don't even know it without looking it up. I keep it as an emergency phone for health reasons and do not have many minutes. I keep it beside my bed in case I need to call 911 or a neighbor. Again, I have NEVER listed this number on anything. Only Safelink & I and my closest friend have the number. I don't like being awoken by a call to a phone that's never been listed. So if this is a random dialing thing, I get it but why call back? Since it's not listed with any bank or anywhere, wtf?
"Uhhhh hello they know what time zone they are calling and they are not calling all time zones at the same time. Dumb thing to say." NOT a dumb thing to say. There are laws that restrict the times for phone solicitors of many types, but allowing cell phones on the lists really muddies the waters because area code is NOT tied to the physical location and time zone of the call recipient. The laws probably need to be updated to keep up with technology. I know about half of my friends under 50 have ditched landlines altogether and only use cell phones.
I have gotten a call every day for the past week from this number and am on the "no call" list and it takes up minutes off my phone!
These dillholes made the mistake of calling me twice in the last two days.It is Gallup but I dont know why they are calling because they never leave a message. I reported the calls to my state's AG noting that it is the crime of harassment to repeatedly call a number without any intent to communicate. If someone calls you over and over and refuses to leave a message they are harassing you under most state laws. The No-call law has many loopholes including surveys but state harassment law forbids someone from calling one over and over without trying to communicate. How many times is harassment is up to the court but if anyone is calling you many times file a complaint against them with your state AG office. The AG will take action against those who are very frequent violators. I looked at the Gallup website but you cant contact them without giving out your name, phone and email. I'm not giving any info to these snakes which they will use to just contact me more. But any business you tell (preferably in writing or email) to put you on their DNC list must do so. Meanwhile try to get these guys for state harassment charges. Until the No-call law is updated it is not very effective for those loophole companies. As for these surveys you can expect a lot more of them as we near our next election. My time is worth at least $100 per hour with a minimum of $50 so if they want to call for my opinion I will give it to them for $50. Make sure you tell all political surveyors who will call in the future that your opinion is worth money and if they dont pay they dont get any data. And dont vote for any candidate who makes automated campaign calls and make sure you tell them why you are not voting for them. Eventually it will be realized that phones are not marketing tools they are simply communication tools. Anyone who does not recognize that should be put of business forever!!! And we can do it if we are persistent.
Unwanted call. Second time. Didn't answer this time. Answered the last time and it was the Gallup polling. Told them I didn't want to speak to them or take a poll. I told them to take my number off the calling list. Seems they don't care.
