I answered. I had just signed up for an aeroplan card. 5 minutes later this number called and an automated voice said I just won 2600 travel dollars and to press "1" to claim it. I didn't press anything and then the call was disconnected.

Missed this call (thankfully). It dialed my Prepaid Cell No though, and this is the first spam call I've received, so I suspect this must be an auto-bot ..

Got a call just now, saying a won X amount of travel points etc....pressed 1 and got hung up on.

If you've ever used Craigslist or other similar services for replying on a job board (IE resumes) your number was most likely picked up by those a-holes. Nothing new here, just watch who you reply to, make sure it's credible first.

I'm from vancouver, bc, I got a call too, at exactly 9:39am today (sept 15, 2009) but i did not answer and googled it and found this thread, I think they are scammers... another number that keeps calling me is 1-514-847-3612... looked up the number and its a Montreal area code.. my advice is DO NOT answer...

I just got a call from our mystery phone caller, and I got a voicemail; but just one of those ones that idiots accidently leave you, because they listened to your whole voice recording..

I'm from southern Alberta and I got a call from 403-201-9988 at 10:52. They didn't leave a message in my voice mail. And I'm trying to sell my car right now so thought it might be someone for that and I tried to call back and it said the number didn't exist. They got me confused.

Received a call in Vancouver from 403-201-9988 on my Fido cellphone 9/14/09 12:15 PM, voice recording said, "Hello, you have won $2,600 travel-dollars. Press 1 to accept". I pressed 0 to try to get a person, and the call disconnected. It sounds like a scam.

Make a complaint with the National Do Not Call List. This seems like it is a shady organization
