I recieved this phone call, they asked me to press 1 to get airmiles reward points I won. I pressed 1 and strange beeping music came on and I hung up right away. I phoned bell my cell provider and they confirmed that it is a phone scam and put a note on my account. I am live in BC...the call was from alberta.
Robotic message starts to play as soon as you pick up. This one was about airmiles - they have several going at the same time (if Bell doesn't work, they can try airmiles or FIDO or ???)This is a spoofed call (probably by a homegrown criminal since it is about Bell and airmiles). Enough with the consipiracy theories .... Bell, Telus, Fido, airmiles...whatever... do not sell your numbers or personal info. These criminal scammers use a computer to generate 10-digit numbers (some working phone residential numbers and many not working). Then they let the computer dial you. Also, they are criminals so they don't follow any law, including those of Do Not Call lists. The only value of the DNC lists for them is that they can see that your number is a working residential number if you list it there.
Got call from this number. Said it was Rogers and I should press 1 to claim a reward from them.
I received calls from this number today. Once on work cell phone at 12:46 pm (other than workmates, only two family members know the number) and on home phone at 2:06 pm. No messages were left.
I just received a call from this number...I am in Vancouver, BC. I have a pay and talk phone so I have to screen my calls because they keep calling and it costs me my minutes. What a pain!
Received the call Aug. 12 at 2PM in BC. I was interested in the area code as I missed the call. I am familiar with the area code 403 not anyone I knew
Got a call from this number, unknown to me, not the first time, same number called earlier about a month ago, too. Didn't answer as it is strange to me. Do not pick up if you are not sure of the caller, otherwise it cost you money per call, whether long-distant or not.

Got my name wrong, no where near close to the person they're trying to scam/contact. Call came from North Texas, left no company name, nothing. Shady asf, 888 area code is commonly used by scammers so this may not be legit.

Sent an email trying to encourage people to call Bank of America at this number. As phishing attempt go, this one was better than most. I can smell these things a mile away.
