Got a call on my cell phone and no-one was there.

This phone number is trying to scam you!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!I kept getting calls from this number but when I answered, they hung up. Finally, I called the police dispatcher in the area and was told that the phone calls were coming from a local magazine company who was having problems with their autodial system. However, about an hour after that I received a phone call from the number again and when I answered I didn't say anything. Finally someone on the other end said my name and told me I had been entered into a sweepstakes that required my visa, mastercard or american express. I replied with "this is a scam dude, what the f*** are you trying to pull?" He said back to me: "trying to pull? S***" and hung up.I reiterate, do NOT give out any personal information. We need to figure out how these scammers got our phone numbers. Any ideas?

I got spamed by answering a F%&*# survey that offered me a chance to win a $1200,00 Photographic camera...To bad why was I so stupid naive and kept filling up all blanks that the mother F&*^%$ trapped me into it...Now I got in one day over 80 e-mails and my cel. phone doesn't stop ringing... I called my phone company and they told me that I could block five #'s for free and after that I have to pay for the other #'s. Well if I have to pay to block all the #'s that are calling me I will be poor in the end of the month because they are so many that I feel as disconnecting my #.If anyone know better way to stop them?!...please let me know...Here is my suggestion for all of you out there: Do not answer to surveys, do not open e-mail that you don't know the sender and do not believe that someone is going to give you something for free...Nothing is for free my friends...

i've had this number call me several times and when i go to answer it the other end hangs up and when you call it back you get the voicemail. i think its rediculous that someone actually has the time to prank hundreds of people and not be man enough to answer the phone

they just called me and said that i have been selected by the "publishers" and i am entered in a a raffle for 100,000 and they said the are going to send me a complementry watch and subscriptions to some magazines they asked about if i have a visa or mastercard and all that stuff so naturally i just lied so now lets see if i actually get a watch

A read on a different site someone thought it might have been something on facebook. I have never put my phone number into anything on there though, so I am not sure how accurate that claim is. My guess is that is has to be something like that though, because all of us seem to be on different phone carriers, and in different spots around the country. My advice is to block the number (if you can) contact the proper authorities, because the longer they get complaints the more likely they will look into this further, and don't answer when they call and don't try to call back. Their voicemail may be full, but my guess is they know the numbers that have called back, and will likely continue to call and more frequently
