Go to www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint immediately. If the feds get a flood of calls on a number they will go after them. File a complaint after eacdh call you receive. They use VOIP to mask their number so the number means nothing as it is over the Internet. If the complaints are fresh and numerous, then they can track it.
I got one this morning from this number as well as months ago. The first time they called it was 5:30am Pacific Time. The ringing woke up the entire family. When I answered it was the sound of a fax transmission starting. I hung up. They called back four times within a forty-five minute period. I was furious.....called AT&T and of course there was nothing they could do. You can't block these numbers. So today is 6/3/2011 and I got another this morning from the same number. I did not answer and the vm was not in its entirety. It was cut off except for the part to press #3 if you want to disregard any further calls from this Company. That didn't work either. I refuse to call the number back because the AT&T Rep told me that some of them are connected to other phones that can be hooked up to wireless access in a computer and all kinds of nonsense could come from it. Her response was to ignore the calls or change my number. Neither of those options made me happy because I hate being awakened by calls and why should they get the prize by having me change my number and inconveniencing me with added grief.
I hope you are right Janet, but that has not been my experience.Good luck to us all ... or better yet, maybe some enforcement for breaking the "no call list" rules.
This is a nuisance call. When I try to call the number back immediately following a call, a recording says it is not in service.
I got another one of these today, and I noticed that my caller ID had the following in addition to the phone number: V08161855310029Does anyone know if this is a clue to the scammers location?I also got THREE calls today from 866 886-8829 with a live person on the line. Tried to find out about that number and while I did learn that their phone carrier is Tcast Communications (tcastcom.com ) I was unable to get any other info. Does anyone know how/where to report 866 numbers? They don't seem to be included on 800 number report lists.I'm angry and mean enough to bombard the phone carrier to let them know how their customers are behaving. Do you think they'll give a toot?
these are auto dial systems,,,,,,why we don't know who they belong to or who pays for the calls?? the mystery continues and the "do not call" list is laughable....government in progress.....
Got a message from this scumbag about an urgent, last chance to lower interest rates on credit card debt.
Have received many calls from "Rachel" from this and other numbers, none of which I can trace. Once I pushed the button to speak to someone, and when I asked about the company and who referred me, since I was on the do not call list, the man on the other end got angry, called me nasty, and said he could cut off all my credit. Why don't they try to do something about these people????? And others like them.
