They are definitely scammers and won't do any good trying to report them, because IMO they are probably calling from a PC, faking the number. If you cancel your caller ID info from going out (By dialing *67 first, in out ATT area), you will get a recording saying, "The number you have dialed is not in service."For those with caller id, just never answer, letting it go to your answering machine, if you use one.
I got a phone call this number last night and the caller ID literally said What, Ever.. so they've started back up again
they call me once a week i just ignore them. i wish someone would figure out how to shut them down. i have spent hours trying to get these people reported to the correct authoriies. nothing ever seems to slow the calls.
These are from a scavege debt collector, ie a scammer. They use several names one of which is Portfolio Recovery. Here are some of their many numbers:321-304-999404-921-2521407-347-4021407-480-9999407-545-9999518-2073602620-662-1492620-662-8870731-984-7690757-519-9300804-9311061847-678-9710866-299-6414866-5475473866-691-3568866-879-2116888-772-7326There are many many more. They are not a legitimate collection company and are known scammers by attorney generals all over the country. Look up any of these numbers and you will find complaints of scamming, fraud and theft as well as harassment. DO NOT GIVE THESE SCAMMERS ANY INFO at all, not even your telephone number. Do not answer the phone if you see any of these numbers. I wish I knew how to put them all in jail but the promise of a paying job insures they constantly have new phone operators all over the world and a constant stream of new phone numbers. Unfortunately, if they decide your number is not going to get them anywhere, they turn around and sell your number to other scammers, to try their luck. And on and on it goes...
Have gotten a multitude of these calls mostly calling about "my credit card" interest rates from "Rachel". I have a feature on my phone that lets me block the call once it comes in. I love that feature. Now when in rings, it rings once and BAM! they can't get through. Don't know the name of the company, don't care. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer.
phone messages are continuous and repetitive every day and multiple times a day. when we are home and answer the call is disconnected. dont understand why they call if no one is ever available to talk with them. Dont understand why the number cant be called back. phone number registers on caller id as 407-480-9999
They called me today. When the lady tried to get me to tell her how much my total credit card debt was and it became obvious she was NOT calling from my credit card company, I told her it was none of her business & who was she calling from ? She immediately hung up on me. When I dialed back the # on caller I.D. (the # above), I got the "not in service" message. I hate these creeps ! I filed an FCC complaint but how can they possibly track them down.
Hey! I have an idea. If you have a ansewering machine. Get a recording of the person saying (Were sorry the number you have reached is not in service) Thats were a tape recorder comes in or a voice recorder.
