Robert Kennedy called my home telephone number, but I let the automatic answered his call. I think it's a scam. Why.don't theses people spend more of their time working a REAL JOB.
THESE PEOPLE HAVE CALLED MY NUMBER AT LEAST 10 TIMES AND ARE VERY FILTHY WHEN I DEMAND THAT THEY STOP CALLING
"Robert Kennedy" at 407-660-9999 called me too. I actually got to speak to someone and asked them to take me off their list. The man said "NO GOD DAM* IT I'M NOT TAKING YOU OFF S*#T B**CH. Real nice. Contacting NYS attorney general office now.
They called our home # a few times when no one was there....we too, am on the national and state do not call lists-We don't typically answer unknown #s-however, this one I finally did:"Hello, (then I waited for a human.....) thank you for calling the AIDS and Herpes Help Line, how may I be of assistance to you today?" They hung up and have not called back.....If this is the most annoying or upsetting thing that happens to you this week.....looks like a pretty good week......Things could always be worse.....you could be the one on the other end of the call...yikes!So...Either don't answer or have fun with the low-lifes that are harrassing people for a living AND if you have the time, turn them in, some people gave really good advice above, I pick my battles and this one I do not have currently have to for....at the moment :)
Yep, had this show up on my caller ID and since I never answer calls from numbers I don't know, I didn't. No message so I looked it up here! LOL! Losers!!!
Just received a call with a robo voice stating: "...This is cardmember services... reduce your interest rate..." bla bla bla... I was told to press 1 to speak with a representative or 6 to receive no further offers. I hung up and called the number back. The old recording "you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." Weird and disturbing. We have a new home phone and obviously I have not listed it with the National Do Not Call Registry. Doing it today.
Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru. But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies. From Wikipedia:Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to display a number on the recipient's Caller ID display which is not that of the actual originating station. The term is commonly used to describe situations in which the motivation is considered malicious by the speaker or writer. Just as e-mail spoofing can make it appear that a message came from any e-mail address the sender chooses, Caller ID spoofing can make a call appear to have come from any phone number the caller wishes. Because of the high trust people tend to have in the Caller ID system, spoofing can call the system's value into question. It is amazing that such a crooked practice is allowed to go on!Where are the feds when I need them????? I wrote to my US Rep...no response!Bottom line: IGNORE IT and never give the other side ANY information. PERIOD!
