Caller ID now says "Robert Kennedy"! These are the same "there is nothing currently wrong with your account" folks [previously known as "Rachel," though we don't hear her say her name on the message she currently leaves on our answering machine]. They had been calling us from 407-936-9999, and the caller ID then said "Sanford FL." So, they changed their phone prefix and caller ID, but kept the "407" area code and "9999" suffix. II'm surprised the Feds don't go after these guys seriously. Their computers must make hundreds of thousands of calls every day, just clogging up telephone lines...
Rachel calls me a couple times a week. Sometimes I act interested, and give them a bogus card number. After ten mins I say "I have been deliberately wasting your time." Boy, do they get mad!
Several calls from variations of this number--407 and 9999 stay the samel. I pick up the phone and immediately hang up.
Got a call from a "Robert Kennedy" recording asking about my credit card debt. This is Orlando Florida and usually there is no name. We belong to the "Do Not Call Registry". Seems these people change numbers all the time and pay no attention to the law.
caller id said robert kennedy, but it was a robo call that asked to press 1 if i wanted to lower interest rates. A person came on, but hang up quickly when I asked who was calling.
I got a call from this number on my cell phone today. There was a message on my voicemail from a woman claiming "We have important information about your current credit card interest rate". This is the first time I've gotten a voicemail from these type of scammers. I sometimes get one call a week from these type of scammers. The prerecorded messages either claim they want to lower my credit card interest rate or help me get a car loan with a low interest rate. I always block the numbers on my cell phone but a few weeks later I start getting weekly calls again from newly spoofed phone numbers. I report each phone call www.donotcall.gov but so far nothing has changed.
Called today twice. I called my credit card company after the first one and the fraud dept. gave me some fake info to give them to aid them in prosecution if they use it.
