Steve,Can you advise when you posted this? I would like to read about it as I am in debt consolidation and they said Chase may take us to court. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The calls never stop! Every day of the week! Very annoying...I will never answer a call from a number I don't know on my cell.
Automatic, apparently, computer generated, 15 to 20 calls per day. My answering machine picks up and there is NEVER a message left. Just dead silence or occasionally a recorded message saying "please hold for an important message" followed by a live person saying "Hello, hello Robert, hello" and they hang up, sometimes breathing heavily into the phone but, never leaving a message. They destroyed one answering machine when I was out of town for a couple of weeks.
My 13 yo daughter has been receiving collection calls for about a week. She obviously does not have a Chase account. We had the same issue several years ago, sued, and won under the Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act and the state Consumer protection laws.Easy money. Just play their game and log each violation. One call could contain several violations at $500 each unless they continue then it jumps to $1000 per violation. The trick is to log each call; date and time, prerecorded messages, names etc. Then when you speak to a person, tell them to place your number on their do not call list and to send a copy of their do not call policy. all requirements under the law.You also need to send a basic fax requesting them to place your number on their do not call list. Keep the fax and fax log as proof. Do not quote laws or threats, just the basics.Keep you logs because they are bound to call again until they are served with a lawsuit, then they will realize they made a mistake. Now you can file suit in your local circuit court. Most likely Chase is registered somewhere in the state, so their registered agent will be served. Chase will most likely remove the suit to federal court because they are incorporated out of state and the question of federal law is at stake. Also potential damages may exceed $75,000.Don't be scared, this is a common tactic. Settlement negotiations will happen before any court date. Good luck.
I get 20 times a day. This is harassment and againt the law. I am reporting them to day . Chase Bank I'm also emailing the CEO of Chase Bank 20 times today to let him experience how invasive their tactics are.
Hi Steve. Read your email about Chase and have to tell you I was with a Debt Consolidation company called Safeguard Credit Counseling and had no problem with them handling my debt. Until my pay was cut and I couldn't keep up with the $500/mo payment. I discontinued the service and have been paying the remainder of my debt off with the same interest rates they charged me in the program. But they keep calling even though I haven't used the card in years and have been paying religiously for well over a year now. A very small balance left and then I AM DONE WITH THEM!! I know some debt consolidation companies are a rip off but Safeguard did what they were supposed to do with no problems. I have 2 Citicards left to pay off and a small amount on Discover and I will be done. Except for the 3 I still use for business.
I received a call during the day. I didn't recognize the number and did not answer. Caller did not leave a message. Now I see this number is associated with CHASE. I have never had an account with them.
That kind of attitude is what got us in our present economy in the first place, fool!! That's robbery and you know it! You actions are what costs us the price we are paying now. GREED, GREED, GREED, ME, ME, ME, get over yourself and take responsibility for what you do and stop blaming everybody else.
