They have called me every other hour, every day for the past 3 days. On my cell phone and at work. It's very very annoying. My cell number used to be a number for a buisness so when someone calls I ignore it unless I know who it is. But seriously people, leave a message and don't call me at work! RUDE!
It is Chase bank, they do a lot of merchant cards... if u don't know the 16 digit account number, they look it up via ssn and use the following stuff for verification... 1-866-549-6881 ... the 407 number comes up because im pretty sure they have a building or two in orlando florida
HEY JERK! Some of these people don't even have accounts with CHASE like myself. So why don't you go into your OWN SELF RIGHTEOUS chat room and stay out of this one. CHASE is annoying. I get multiple calls as well. They call and hang up with the assumption just to be annoying. I have talked to these people and they know I am not their customer but keep calling. I am writing down every call since I have told them to stop calling personally. Now I am writing a letter, sending it certified with a signature receipt so I can take action. As far as Mr. Duhppl and his jerk comments...Chase is probably calling some people for late payments, however that does not make these people bad. Terrible things happen to people everyday that put them in a situation where they can't pay their bills. I have worked in the banking industry for 15+ years on all sides and there are more people with hardships than there are those who are out to screw the credit card companies or banks over. And who are you to judge? I don't see "GOD" in your title? What does Duhppl stand for? "dumb utterly hypocritical parsimonious peon loser?
yes I do owe chase+yes I will pay eventually when I have a job.I won't call these people back I call + directly deal with chase. They have a whole bank of numbers they use, Cap One also-Since I add them to contact list(after reverse lookup) and scroll down to "ring tone" and set it as "NO RING" the only hassel for me is if I'm ,out I have to wait till I get home to do look ups. Oh, they call 7 days a week-Easter was the 1st day I've gotten NO calls since they started "hunting" me 3 months ago.
I got two calls from this number before i was even outta bed. I answered the second time and they asked for me, but when i asked for them to identify themselves twice, they hung up. Rude
We don't even HAVE a CHASE account!!They call CONSTANATLY.407 771 0887Unknown, Florida, Verizon all come up on caller id

Harassment or abuseA debt collector may not engage in any conduct the naturalconsequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse anyperson in connection with the collection of a debt. Withoutlimiting the general application of the foregoing, the followingconduct is a violation of this section: (5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any personin telephone conversation repeatedly or continuouslywith intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at thecalled number.(6) Except as provided in section 804, the placement oftelephone calls without meaningful disclosure of thecaller’s identity. What this means, in general as I understand it (not being a lawyer), is as follows:1) They can call only between 8 AM and 9 PM local time of the physical location of the phone. They can call ANY day including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.a. In the case of a cell phone it is local time of the service provider since it is not possible for them to know your actual location2) If you have notified them that you are represented by an attorney in the matter (information given to them) the must communicate only with the attorneya. Unless the attorney is not reachable and does not return callsb. Unless the attorney give permission for them to contact you directly3) They can not call you at work if they have been notified, or can reasonably deduce, that your employer does not allow calls a. Example: a manufacturing floor where taking time to answer a group phone takes you away from your specified work area, especially if other workers down stream from you would have their work interrupted as wellb. Example: 9-1-1 operator4) They must stop if you send them a letter instructing them to cease all attempts at contacting you. Or you can instruct them to contact you ONLY in a specific manner (mail at a specific address, a specific phone number, a specific time, email, etc.)a. They can still contact you to inform you of the following things: Their services have been terminated, the creditor/debt collector may invoke or have invoked a specific action allowed by lawb. This includes your spouse, parents if you are a minor, etc. It does not specify if your parents can be contacted afterwards if you are not a minor, nor any other family. It is best to specify this in your letter.5) When contacting anyone but you (room mate, family, employer, etc) must:a. Identify him/herselfb. Not verbally disclose that you owe debt6) Not use any text or symbols on envelopes sent to you indicating that you owe debt or that they are debt collectorsI have not found any thing limiting the number of times they can call you, especially if you never answer or all they get is your answering machine. I have not found any thing requiring them to leave a message if they reach an answering machine. Despite Section 806 (5), even though we all know we are annoyed and feel harassed, it is impossible to prove that it is their INTENT to do so (unless you have a legal recording of such a conversation). Since most of the calls I get are computer generated I think it would be quite hard to prove that the computer was deliberately trying to annoy/harass me.It seems the best thing to do, which is what I am now doing, is to send them a letter instructing them to cease all communications with me except thru an email account I am setting up just for them. The letter will be sent certified mail with receipt required (so they can’t claim that they never got it; like that has never happened).Best practices in the future when opening up a credit card;1) Have caller I.D.2) Have a separate email account for them3) Never give them your cell phone number
A collection agency has been calling for Chase. They call 5 times a day on my cell phone. I have caller ID and I will no longer answer the call. I talked to them once and told them I realize that the payment is a little late but there has been a family emergency (my husband has been in a mental facility for 2 weeks) and there have been unexpected expenses. I will pay it when I get the money, but for now they will have to wait. There are more important things going on in my life.
