Yeah, this was a call from Yahoo with a verification code after I created a throwaway email address. It's legit.
This is Yahoo Security. Because of the new Yahoo hacking issue, I changed all my email PW's and they called to verify info that I changed. There may be some scammers using this number to spoof, but for me, it was legit.
this number is used by yahoo to call people on their accounts for solicitation making money off your account with yahoo. I have saved all the numbers on a magic jack listing them as robocalls and this number comes up a lot for different companies. I went in my yahoo account and changed my phone number twenty minutes later that magic jack number rang with the same sales pitch. If you have yahoo as your mailing address you will get a lot of calls, they are selling your phone number under the associated business clause you agree to so they are not breaking the law.
Hello DH ,I have 3 yahoo accounts and I use tex sign in instead of regular passwords and this number 408 610 4900 is definitely yahoo cause I get texs and calls from this number all the time when I want to sign to my yahoo accounts. So if you haven't used yahoo in years then probably what happened is that someone was trying to sign in to their yahoo and has a number very similar to yours and when they tried to sign in to yahoo they entered your number instead of their own. Sure DOES NOT sound like YAHOO to me. I got two calls in succession on Dec 12 2016. Each were identical and sounded exactly like some guy warming up his yodeling act . . . That was it. No dialogue; just the brief "yodel" . NO CODES whatsoever.
