They eventually go away??? The [***] I get calls from never go away. I have been seeing the same phone numbers on my caller day after day for the last four months.
2/25/2014 6:45 P.M. I got a phone call from 414-232-5011. I did NOT answer, as usual! When I don't recognize the AREA CODE. I check the internet. Also, I have Samsung Cell Phone "RECORDER" on my call phone ... just in case! I have a standing policy NEVER, NEVER answer a call from outside my own area. Yeah, I'm on the Federal "DO NOT CALL" List too.
I believe that not answering does limit these calls. I never answer unknown calls regardless. I get about 1 a month on my cell and NEVER a repeat number. Also I never give out my cell number on forms. If people need to get ahold of me they can use the provided address.
I just got a call from this number on my cell phone. I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. No message was left.
got robocall from 414-232-5011 caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME" on Thursday 06-05-14 @ 915 AMon errands so missed the call. But from the myriad of posts it appears it is SCAMMERS doing the "Free" Caribbean Cruise SCAM.
Talked to them, answered everything on the survey completely opposite as I would normally. Then told the lady on the phone that and asked for 5 dollars for the correct answers...she hung up.
These numbers with this area code was on our local news and they said do not answer. I think they said they are actually coming from Nigeria. They said it was scammers. I am pretty sure this was one of the numbers. Somehow they can make it look like it is coming from USA. I never answer because they said a person could be charged for the call.
And the purpose of their fake "survey" is to qualify you as a sales prospect for their travel club. There are minimum and maximum age requirements and a minimum income requirement to qualify for the "free" cruise. Then you have to attend a high pressure sales presentation with your spouse or partner at a local hotel or conference center. At the end you also find out your "free" cruise is not so free as there are all sorts of taxes and fees associated with it and you are responsible for transportation to and from the port of call
