the number belongs to International Travel Brokers - they said I filled out a survey I DIDN't fill out, and were trying to sell a "make money in your spare time" scam. The guy was obnoxious and rude, and said he "already had all my information" - name, address, etc., which he did. Scary. I told him in no uncertain terms to destroy all information he had and to not call my number again. My guy used the name Stan and later Da
International Travel Brokers-same as above- guy cold called and claimed that I had asked for this information on the web. (I do not believe I did but there are a lot of bogus offers)This guy is selling a bogus plan to get you to pay for a web site, so you can be a Travel Broker. I happen to have worked in the travel business some years ago and know how small some of the profit margins are. AFTER a few question he convinced me that his business model won't work for anyone but for him as he is guy selling the web sites for hard cold cash. When I asked him to direct me to a web site they got going he acted like I had asked him to reveal a state secrete. Watch out. Best course of action is to just hang up. THey are trading off some company by the same name out in CA.
they have called me five times in the last three hours. also i got a random check to my name mailed to me by express for $2500 this morning. I haven't signed up for anything online or given my phone number, email address, and address to anyone... this is all kinda freaky.
This number just called (1:50 PST). Guy on the line said something like, "Sayid?" He said it really quickly, and purposefully slurred. I asked him to repeat it and he did the same thing. I said, "No, you must have the wrong number." He responded, "Are you sure? You sound like Sayid." I had him repeat the name once more and got the same response. So I said, "No, I think I would know who I am" and hung up. I don't want to call them back -- I don't want them to continue the cycle.
THEY GET YOUR NUMBER THROUGH THE INTERNET. IF YOU HAVE DONE ANYTHING ONLINE AND PUT IN YOUR NUMBER; THEN YOUR INFO GOT SOLD!
I've been called by this # twice in the last 2 days. I also have been called by some other weird numbers in the last 2 days, including 866-314-5690, 616-980-2288, and 770-499-8759. They have each called at least 2x over the last 2 days. Many of the times they ask for Alicia. All calls have been to my cell phone. It's driving me crazy.
