exactly what happened to me!! they waited 5 years to call me and tell me and she was very rude. gave me a number to a place that isnt even GSB. something just doesnt seem right
It most certainly IS illegal to talk to ANYONE about your bills without your permission, if they are not on the account-please read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act before you spout off about things you know nothing about.
Got a call from these people several times looking for someone else. told them to remove my number, they STILL call.
They called my number and it wasn't even for me! And they acted like I was lying. I understand that people do that but I wasn't! Then they called me back 2 hours later!

I just had someone call me at my work number wanting to verify my employment. After hanging up I called the number back to see if they would identify the business they were calling for and she only answered "This is Tracy". Then acted like she couldn't hear me and hung up. ALL of my creditors know not to EVER call me at work. But I guess when a creditor sells your debt to another agency they don't have to follow that rule?
