This number called me today and asked me to verify that i am who i am. They did not identify where they were calling from so....hello, i refused to give them anything. Now, i do know i owe on a hospital bill but they have stopped sending me billing to pay off the balance, very disturbing. I will be calling the hospital on this.

ok, first off just so everyone knows. The only way to get these people to stop calling is to file suit against them. This is not as hard as it sounds. Step one is to find out who they really are, you see people that owe money are not the only ones who dodge phone calls from debt collectors. The debt collectors themselves dodge phone calls from the real world, due to the fact that they are not following procedures set forth by the Federal Trade Commossion and can be heavily fined for this. So they rig their caller i.d.'s so that there are several phone #'s coming in and you only requested the one phone number to stop calling you. You see where I'm going with this?? But anyway, you have to send them written notification that they are no longer allowed to call you and send it registered mail so they have to sign for it, otherwise they WILL say they never got a letter from you. Second, if you are in the state of Ohio, you can legally record all of your phone conversations without telling them they are being recorded and this will hold up in court. Third, and this is probably the most important part, keep a call log by your phone. This can be as simple as a legal pad that you can write on, record every time they call. Whether you answer their call or not, write down the date, the number they called from, and the time. Collectors are not alowed to call before 8 in the morning and not allowed to call after 9 at night. This is not a time zone thing either, if it is 9 where you are, they are not allowed to call you just because they are in a different time zone where they are. They like to use that one to skate around people that don't know their rights under the law. Finally, go to the FTC website, the federal portion of the law is there, read it ALL and then go to your state website and read the regulations there for debt collectors. Once you are fully informed of your rights by law, sock it to them!! It's about time the people take control of these bottom feeders and strike back at all of them in court!! Got a call from this place the other day.. They claimed I had an outstanding debt. When I asked where it was from, they told me a hospital. However, the time they told me I wasnt in a hospital where they claimed. It was from over 3 years ago and they claimed they only sent out papers every now and then.. What a business.. we want money from people but we only send out bills every now and then to people who "owe"... what a joke. It just came up Defiance Ohio.. with no title.. 419-782-6838

Just got a call from them today and they hung up. I called back and the lady was RUDE RUDE RUDE. I told her that I would be happy to handel any debt that I may have if they would stop hanging up on me.

didn't know the number but have friends and family in the 419 area code. went to get the phone but machine picked up first. a girl said hello twice and then hung up. No message at all or indication to return a call either. Caller ID stated "Unknown Name"

I get these calls and I have a debt with them. I think it is uncalled for to call all hours of the day. I pay my bills with them, and they still keep calling. It is very annoying. Someone needs to call Better Business Bureau and report them for annoying people. I understand paying the debts, but calling all hours is uncalled for!

actually they have you call a 800# so they can get more contact information from you. As they are able to see the number you call from , YOU CANNOT BLOCK your number period. As they are paying for the call, so they have the right to see what they are paying for.
